Well, thats very true. I guess it goes both ways? Though for awhile, I kinda "squaked/squeaked" when I was in pain. But, Vijay, you have a very good point. You just dont think of an inter-species telepathic-ness. They do it on Star Trek though....

Human did try more of that telepathic "No" stuff, and it worked Athena!! smile

BTW, WHY do they put this glue stuff on ice cream cones? Sheesh!!

we're incredibly late adding our four cents (you know, my two and my brother's two?) to this thread. but better late than never, right?

our mom talks to us like normal, human cats. she asks us how we're doing, and if she's leaving tells us where she's going. she DOES baby talk at us if she's being overly-affectionate, in which case we just squeak a bit and then pretend like she's a really annoying bug. she knows we love her, though-we just have to make sure she knows we're not BABIES any more!

After reading this thread and doing some research, *adjusts spectacles* I will re-cap so new Catsters can chime in:

Hey All! Our cat mother has this thing that the human types should engage us in "intelligent conversation."

I, Cole, found from reliable sources that the concept of intelligent conversation with your cat comes from Lillian Jackson Braun's "Qwilleran" in The Cat Who... books. Koko, the big male Siamese, also used an unabridged dictionary as a claw-sratching item.

We have discussed many ways of possible cat-human communication, but what about the initial question...do cats do better with intelligent conversation from humans until humans get to the point of mind bonding?

*smiles big* I wanna mind bond!! Me and my human already have a close bond. I know a few words, and have some basic command training, but am very stubborn. Human has been reading me The Ghatti Tale, and I act as if I understand her, staring intently as she reads to me, and flinching when she emphasizes the words. Wonder if I understand her?
