Sarah Palin signed aerial hunting (TORTURE) of wolves and bears into law in Alaska. Please circulate this video--the press needs to pick up on it and the public needs to be hearing about it!! Be warned: the UTube video (link below) is hard to watch if you care at all about animals. But it needs to be seen by as many voters as possible!!

Mystery

Why do they call- me

Yes. Hunting animals is disturbing to a number of persons. Hunters in Ohio hunt a lot of deer. As a Ohioan from a hunting family, if the wolf or coyote population got large enough that they competed with our food source too, Ohioans would be calling for the same thing - and would surely get it.

There are other issues our house finds more important. Clothing the children. Keeping a roof over our heads. Gas in the car to get to the job. Heating and electricity costs ... that have soared 35 to 40 percent - ouch! Food costs... and if they don't get better soon, there is going to be a lot more hunting of fresh game.

I looove wolves and bears, but these sort of things usually go into effect to regulate the ecosystem, not destroy it. There's a lot of deer overpopulation here, which is why so many can be hunted. They should just ship those extra wolves and bears over here to take care of it party

Hey ... light bulb here. What about TNR?

It's working really well for the feral cat community.

shock Really?? Nobody finds this as apalling as we do?
Hunting is one thing. Chasing a terrified animal via helicopter to exhasution and then shooting it--much like shooting quail with clipped wings--is something else. And there is no eco-management behind this legislation.

Really? I sincerely doubt this is happening so they have an excuse to be big ol' meanies you can complain on the internet about.

Hey there! We're not trying to be mean--we are just very sad that wolves have to suffer like that. My grandpaw hunts and even HE thought that aerial hunting seemed not very fair. --I wouldn't want to be chased by a big, scary machine like that, and then shot. Icebox is right--maybe TNR's the humane solution! smile

Hello everyfur,

The Community has requested that members do not post non-cat related political statements in the forums and we agree. While no one forgets there is a big world out there, there are so few places we are free from the pains of the non-pet world, that we like to keep the public forums that way.

With purrs,

Catster HQ
