I filled out the complaint form. I am still in shock that youtube hasn't removed it yet. I mean clearly there are a lot of angry people who are complaining but they still have it on there.
Anycat get anything back from the ASPCA or Peta or anyone yet?

we filled out the complaint form. please urge that this kid be taken off permanently, not just the video. do not give this kid a voice for anything. also, tell youtube (who was bought by google or other way around) you'll start using another search engine or find out how to affect their pocketbook. animal lovers represent a huge base and enough boycotting or word about them supporting stuff like this by showing it (and that IS support) could make them have second thoughts. we need not only to show outrage, but know how to affect the bottom line: their pocketbook. that's the way to get effective action done. thanks for posting the link to youtube!! anyone have the number, e-mail for NY police??? and don't forget to e-mail PETA; like someone said: they DO love a scandal!!!

I have also contacted Joy about this. Maybe she will ASAP this in the Dogster Blog. Mom has also sent this to all our email contacts - to send to theirs and so on.

Does any cat know how to contact any national news organizations? They will do a great investagation and story on this. "Grandson of famous - name here - tortures cat and places video on YouTube for the world to see" cry

silenced

Precedent should really be set with this situation. If that kid is prosecuted - and we'll be purring that he is - YouTube should also be prosectued for contributing to the abuse or willful neglect or something along those lines. It is terribly irresponsible of them, especially considering the complaints they have been receiving, to leave the video up on the site. Maybe if they faced legal responsibility, it would make the execs of sites like this think twice about the material that is allowed to be posted.

Well, we just contacted PETA, also. I have to say, if there is hope of having a legal case pushed against YouTube, PETA is probably the best bet.

We still have never watched the entire video. We got through about 40% and had to turn it off.

I don't know why you got the delivery notification failure message Amelia, I got this automated message:

"Thank you for contacting YouTube!

This is just an automated message to let you know that we have received
your email. We appreciate your bringing this to our attention, and
we'll
investigate. We'll follow up with you only if we require more
information
or have additional information to share.

Regards,
The YouTube Team"

now, we are computer illiterate and don't know how to navigate youtube at all (honestly, we've never gone to it cause meowmy's afraid she'd spend too much time there, just like we don't have cable) so this may be a dumb question, but.... is there any way to send e-mail to youtube users, especially the others that have posted cat videos? don't forget: boycott is a powerful means we have at our disposal to make companies wake up and listen.

Mommy has a friend in New Jersey who is a cop and fellow animal lover. She is going to try to get in touch with him today and see if he has contacts in NYC police depts, or if he has suggestions.

There is a "Community" tab on YouTube, and under that there are groups, and within each group there are discussion boards. So probably a Group would have to be formed and the discussion thread started in there.

For boycotts, it would be really beautiful if there were a way to notify the advertisers on YouTube if there were groups boycotting the site because of site content! It's one thing if someone is barking because of some soft porn. It's another thing altogether if people are screaming because of animal or child abuse.
