At what age do kittens begin to calm down?

Got a new, young, furry love in your life? This is the place for you to ask all of your questions - big or small! Just remember that you are receiving advice from other cat owners and lovers... not professionals. If you have a major problem, always seek the advice of a vet or behaviorist! First off your little baby is just precious, and of course that makes it harder to say "bad kitty". But I agree, do not let them play with your hands, you will be SO glad later on. Charmaine is now about 8 months old, and I still call her "Turbo Tabby". However Emma, my older female (she will be 3 in April) loves to run and play with Charmaine, so it helps them both work off energy.

Enjoy the kitten months (or years), they do grow so fast....

Lol....I only have one cat, but thank goodness I have Terry! He plays a lot with Pye, so he somewhat calms him down too. It is the cutest thing ever to watch them play chase!

If you don't mind me asking, how did decide on that name? big grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grin

Take lots of pictures now, mol, they grow up fast. Cowboy and Cruiser are
6 months old now, and they still rip and tear thru the house, like crazy
boys, with Bumpurr, who is 28 months old. big grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grin

Kittens grow out of the play bitting stage, mine are pretty much at the
tail end of it. Like everyone said, don't play with them, with your fingers,
get some wand toys, there is a huge variety out there, and play with him
with the wand toys. Mine love them. Also get a laser light, they run about
$6 at Pet Smart, mine love them too. big grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grinbig grin

Thank you so much for all the compliments! I got the name from a movie called Bell, Book, and Candle (1958, with James Stewart and Kim Novak). I absolutely fell in love with her cat and decided that I would name my little furball after one of the coolest cats ever.

I did purchase a laser and Pyewacket absolutely loves it! But, without a doubt, Pye's favorite toy is still Terry. I really cannot begin to fathom how they get along so well, and the amount of patience my dog has for Pye is incredible...lol. Oh, and he is getting a lot better when it comes to biting people, thank goodness! Although he is still a little ball of energy!

And, I must say, all of your cats are simply gorgeous! Their color is absolutely fantastic!
