My new housemate is going to be a siamese. Mommy wants to know what is best for grooming the coat of a kitty with that kind of fur. Comb or brush? Any specific brands, types of teeth, material, etc?

My fur is very siamese like and grooming can be a bit of an issue because it is short and sleek. I find a curry comb is great. It looks like half of a snap trap. It is a ring or loop of metal with triangular teeth on one side. This takes out a lot of loose fur. You have to find one small enough for a cat though because they are usually made for dogs. Another good one is a grooming mit which are made from various materials. Rubber brushes also work well but some can pull the skin and be uncomfortable. If you don't mind the vacuum you can also be vacuumed which works really well. I hate the vacuum and wont put up with it but my mommy wishes I would. If you do use the vacuum make sure your mommy tests it on herself first to ensure there isn't too much suction that will hurt you. Also remember that your skin is thinner than hers.
