Fiddlehead ailing and mourning

This is a special place for cats to share their love and support for each other during difficult times; it's a place to light candles, give a "get well purr" and let everyfur know they are never ever alone.

I am truly at wit's end. Besides dealing with losing two cats in two days, Fiddlehead how has the same URI that Whatnot had, and hers was so bad it was part of the reason we ended up putting her down (she also had recently been diagnosed with a tumor in her chest). I'm already broken hearted beyond belief, and now to be dealing with another sick cat instead of just loving him, it's killing me. So please send healing thoughts to Fiddlehead. I don't know if cats make it through URIs. He's very weak, falls over when he sneezes, has his tongue sticking out to breathe (may have ulcers). It's HORRIBLE to see and impossible to treat...there are no easy remedies for this. He had been doing really well until the URI...so I'm pissed off in a way and sick to my stomach. Aaaargh.

I agree...this CANNOT be happening to me, right? We are now wondering how we brought a virus into the house and whether we need to accept the ultimate ending here. And we want more kitties, but I would fear the virus is being brought in BY us, and I don't want anymore sick cats for a while. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back...just to find out more about what to expect as the illness progresses. I will leave him alone if I think it will be better than trying to force feed/water him, and force meds down (because he's on regular meds that have nothing to do with the URI, and I can't get him to do anything right now). This is by far the most horrible, painful thing I've ever been through. Maybe if all the kitties and their humans put their heads together and wished him well, it would work!!! smile

This is Delyte. As gruesome as it is, forcing water helps more than it hurts. We are so sorry that this happened to all of you, and we are purring for Fiddlehead as hard as we can. Life is so very very hard sometimes, and so unfair. GIANT PURRS .... hug

All of my pets have experienced sluggishness, sneezing, itching(kitten only). I've been sick since Sept. I think it just needs to ride it's course. I would pay extra attention to Fiddlehead, they sense your pain and stress and will feel it themselves, which can then bring on illness. Please pawmail me if you want to talk. I'll be here all day tomorrow. I put you on the Purr page, but my friend who does the updates has been ill, so I posted it a couple of times to get the message out. I hope it helps. I'll leave you a message on Fiddlehead's page too....purrrrrrsscry

Purring. Praying. Purring that Fiddlehead and family find the strength and courage needed to navigate these most difficult and challenging times. Purrs be with you, dear Fiddlehead.
