I'm thinking about putting my kittens on TOTW . I got 3 samples of it in the mail today so I'm wanting to see how they do on it. I was wondering if its ok for them to eat? They are both pretty small, the person i got them from said they are 6weeks. So i didnt know if they needed to be on kitten food instead?

Taste of the Wild is a grain-free all life stages food, meaning for everyone from kitten to senior can thrive on it. Your kittens would do fine on it. Our dog is on the canine formula and doing well. I'm thinking about switching the kitties all over to the feline formula.

They are coming out with a wet line of TOTW in the next few months too. Personally I'm not a huge wet fan, mine get it as a snack only. It just depends on what works best for your individual cat.

Kiwi and Mango seem to like the TOTW food. They've only been eating canned food and just nibbling dry, i didnt have any canned left this morning so i just put some water in with their Taste Of The Wild dry food, and they ate that right up, they seemed to like it.

Be careful getting their dry wet, it can cause bacterial growth, which is bad for cats' stomachs. At six weeks, they should be transitioned to dry slowly, so as not to upset their young tummies. Give TOTW as a snack, but do keep feeding them wet kitten food. If you decided that TOTW is the way to go, slowly increase the amount of dry over a few weeks, until you have reversed the dry/wet amounts. I would recommend keeping wet into the rotation, it will help ease their transition should you have to switch to a different food, and it is better for urinary health. We get a wet meal once every two days in lieu of dry, it helps with our coats, and mom was told that males need the extra moisture for urinary health.

hmm, it says grain free, but the second ingrident in the bag is potatoes, third being fat. so its mostly made up of chicken meal, poetatoes, and fat.

idk if id feed this personally. evo, wellness core, or B.C. is a better grain free IMO

Last time I checked, chicken, fat, and potatoes are not grains. Even grain free foods have to have some type of carbohydrate source. I still think it's superior to many other brands, and a good value to boot.
