Choosing the Right Cat

GO!
If you are wondering what is the right cat for you, this is the place to be. In this introductory forum we talk about topics such as breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, breeders, shelters, rescues as well as requirements for exercise, space and care. No question is too silly here. This particular forum is for getting and giving helpful, nice advice. It is definitely not a forum for criticizing someone else's opinion, knowledge or advice. This forum is all about purring and learning.

How did everyone get there cat and why did you name them the name you did?

Pandora was a rescue from the pound. someone left her in front of the pound tapped into a box. ( which gave me the idea for pandora as in pandora's box. She was three days from being euthanized . I went to look at some kittens and I heard what sound like hey, I turned and there was pandora in her cage waving like crazy at me. I knew she was the one for me.

Well, Mommy has a list. (mol)
I'm Bethany and I was a rescue from the street. Mom thinks I must have gotten out from where I used to live before. No body came forward, so I got a furrever home. Mom Named me Bethany Hope because she loved the name and Dad that they were my best hope for a home.

Budweiser got his name because that was Dad's favorite beer at the time, Still is actually Buddy's big and will eat anything. Garbage can!

Shredder got her name by her previous owners because she shredded their couch. Shoulda got a scratching post. Plus she was misstreated too, so she got a furrever home with us.

Alexander was a outside rescue in the middle of winter. Mom named him Alex because her favorite fictional charactor is Alex Cross and Morgan Freeman played him in 2 movies.

Mickey was named after our human nephew. Michael was a rescue from the Humane Society when Mom and Dad were still doing fostering for them.

Tia Maria came with her name. And she was about to go the the Rainbow Bridge because she wasn't wanted anymore. Her owners wanted their new dog more. We are good friends too.

My B.f.f is Bobbie Sue and she used to live with my human auntie. We took her in. Wendy named her Bobbie Sue because she is a Pixie Bob and looks like a little bob cat. She has lots of catatude too.

Wally was given to my Mom they day that Ashley passed on. He came with the name Walter, so we call him Wally for short.

Precious got her name 'cause she is so precious. She was one of our foster kitties that found a home, but was abused while she was there. We found out and we tok her back. I think she was so relieved to as she knew a couple the cats from before.

Gotta go find the cat nip now. He he.

Purrs to upu all, Bethie

Violet

That's Kitty to- you!

Violet was born in New Orleans and came to Texas as a young kitten after she and possibly her mamma were rescued from Katrina. She was originally adopted by a friend of ours, but they returned her after a few days because she didn't get along with their older cat. Meanwhile, my brother had been wanting a cat, and so my mom suprised us with her.

My brother at first wanted to name her Darth Vader, and then Mrs. Darth Vader after he heard that she was a female. My mom and I wanted to name her Katrina, but my brother didn't. Later, when we were in my brother's room, I came up with the name Violet, after the girl from the Incredibles, and my brother agreed. However, we started to call her Kitty and the name stuck.
