This came from Alana of Blind Cat Rescue today. There are two cats near Chapel Hill that need help as they're in a high kill shelter, the same one that had Mia, the blind siamese we recently were able to save. Here's the info...if you can pass the word on any groups, forums, etc, that would be wonderful!!!

You can reach me by email at

From the Chapel Hill Pound:

I am hoping that maybe you would be so kind as to get the word out for us again. We have another blind siamese that we are hoping you could help us place. She is approximately 8 years old. The folks that brought her in had only had her 6 to 8 months. They say they found her and took her in but that they aren't home enough and are out of town regularly and can't keep up with the care of a special needs animal.

We also have a tortie kitten who was brought to us with a severe URI. She did lose sight in one eye and we were sure she would lose sight in the other, but it has made a great improvement and she seems to have some vision in it. She was cared for by one of our staff and she loves her toddler and seems to adjust well after a day or so. She is currently on our adoption floor, but we're not sure how much interest there will be in her.
