I'm thinking about adopting a cat in need in New York. The problem is that I'm in Oregon and don't exactly have the money to ship it here. I was wondering if there was someone who might be able to help with this? Thanks.

If there was a passenger on an airline that could escort the cat - someone could help. But the cost of flying the crate even with a passenger is $150.00. Driving a cat from NY to you would take days and be very stressfull for any animal.

My Mom is the transport coordinator for Save A Sato so she does lots of trips for animals.

It would be easier for you to adopt in your own area. I know there are some wonderful cats there.

Perhaps you could contact Diego and Lulu - maybe they can help you find a kitty near you.

*sigh* I was afraid that would be the response. Part of the thing is that this is a breed that I've been wanting for a long time (Sphinx) and are expensive (not to mention that I'd rather rescue), and my friend in New York found it. She said she'd hold on to it until I flew out there to visit her this summer, but it turns out her husband is deathly allergic to cats, as in anaphylactic shock of he's even in the same room. So, that idea was out. I've kept an eye on rescues around here, but this breed has never shown up. The cat's in a bad situation right now, and I just thought we could make it work somehow.

Well, maybe I can convince my friend to come out here. Probably not, but it'd be worth a shot.
