We currently live in Mauritius, but are looking at the possibility of re-locating to France, and have been told that it is possible to go with Mum and Dad - but no one seems to know how or who to contact...

Yes, you can go to france. France is fairly easy to "get into" for us cats.

1) you will need ALL your vaccinations up to date. This includes but is not limited to Rabies, Lukimea. Also, you will need to have them fully vaccinated a full month before travel.

2) You will need to be sheltered at teh airport in france for a 48 hour quarnteen unless you have specific other arrangements. (used to be 40 days).

3) your cats MUST be microchiped, you must have the microchip info on you, and france must be able to access it with thier readers. my limited understanding of microchipping is that some chips are not as universal as others.

You do not need a special visa, however you do need an application which is avaliable here. oh, reading this, it looks like the quarnteen may no longer apply to Canada and US residents.

That's the new EU laws regarding pets.
