not litter trained at 11 weeks?

This is a place to gain some understanding of cat behavior and to assist people in training their cats and dealing with common behavior problems, regardless of the method(s) used. Hi! I was planning on adopting pair of kits once they are weaned. They are now 11 weeks and being force weaned on the vet's advice. But... according to the family, someone or someones are not fully litter trained. They all use the box, but there are still accidents, most recently on a $600 chair! They keep the box very clean. Keep in mind, the kittens were raised in the home by mom and another adult (male) cat, so they had examples to follow. This just seems old to still be having accidents and I don't want to get myself into a bad situation. They do not know which ones are doing it. Is this normal or should I back out while I still can? I feel bad and want to give them a chance but I can't deal with soiling. What should I do?

At 11 weeks a few accidents doesn't sound like a big deal to me. I got Taz at 12 weeks and she still had an accident here or there for the next couple months. They are just babies, it happens. Unless it's a constant issue (daily) I wouldn't worry much about it. It also might be because the litter box is too far away from where they are playing and by the time they realize they have to go it's too late.
