Isabelle

Do I smell- treats??

Purred: Sat Mar 14, '09 9:58pm PST
A while back I posted with concerns about Isabelle's activity level (as in, it was flat-line wink), and since then have been looking for toys that she liked and would chase around. Of course none of them were acceptable to her. laugh out loud

Well recently she found a small loop of velcro (don't ask me where!) and it is the BOMB!!! It's big enough for her to carry in her mouth, it scoots on the hardwood floors very well, it flings in the air nicely, and its a great texture to chew! happy dance

It got lost for a few days, and she was sad, so I bought a length of velcro at a craft store for $1 and made her several more. She loves them. cheer

So for any of you looking for cheap toy ideas, I thought I'd pass this one along (especially for you chewers out there)! Silly kitties and their toys!!

Bishop loves rubber bands but I don't let him play with them very often. I feel that rubber would not be good for him to ingest or eat shrug But I throw down my hair bands (ones that are covered with a material) once in a while for him to play with....he goes nuts for them! laugh out loudlaugh out loudlaugh out loud

Just a word of caution, cats should not be allowed to play with string,
ribbons, rubber bands, or even rubber bands covered in material, its
still rubber bands underneath. big grin

They can be easily chewed up and swallowed, and become lodged in the
intestines. big grin

When Bishop plays with the material rubber bands I do watch him play with them. He has not once tried to eat them. But the uncovered rubber bands I have seen him try to eat one...

What my big one likes most and gets him to play even though he tries not to be impressed by anything: the top part of a gallon (or half gallon for that matter) of milk. the thingy you peel off the lid when you first open it. I don't know what it is that's so intriguing but he loves it! he will play with it until it vanishes under the fridge. every once in a while I will get all the accumulated ones from up under the fridge and he'll go crazy...

It's Stella. I am totally crazy for those plastic strips that you use to tie up bags, the ones with the little things on the end so you can lock them closed. My male person bought a gross of them from the hardware store and I go nuts every time they are thrown. I used to return them over and over again, but since the two kittens got here, they told me it was too subservient to the humans to fetch and return, so I usually only do it a couple of times now if the kittens aren't around. They like to knock them under the stove, along with all our other toys. Life was good until these brats showed up! confused

Hi Stella, please tell your mommy or daddy, those little ties have wire
inside them, and if you should chew one up and swallow it, you could
perferate a gut. Which would not be good. shock
