Pet-Peeves: Anyone but her mom, noises, people in the hallway, change
Favorite Toy: All sorts of toys! Toys!
Favorite Nap Spot: Her cuddle cup (heated bed)
Favorite Food: Lotus wet (grain-free) and Lotus dry
Skills: She has gorgeous calico markings on her striped-tabby coat.
Arrival Story: Hazel was the first kitten in her litter that caught my eye at work. I saw her and decided then and there to get her out of there. Little did I know that she was only one of a litter! When I gave her treats, cats came out of the woodwork and now we have four more!
Bio: She once climbed into our basement ceiling and would not come out for days. We had to trap her. She is named after Hazel Lucy of Catster Fame. She is the most shy and least friendly of the family, but she is very special to us. ** After Hazel Lucy went to Heaven March 16, 2011, my mom and her mom spoke on the phone. On April 22nd, 2011, I moved to Purrsville to live with HL's mom. I miss Gilmore but not the others too much, especially Cas. I have the whole place to myself and pretty soon I won't be "shy Mazie" anymore!
From her mom:
MARGO IS GOING TO BE OK!!!!! Thank you, Jesus!
Her numbers are ok. The vet found that her anal glands were impacted and infected. They were cleaned out, she got an enema, pain meds, and antibiotics, and I can pick her up Tomorrow Morning! I am SO excited and relieved! Thank you all so much for your prayers and purrs!
She will be on antibiotics for a while, then will need laxatone added to her diet. I have questions, but everything will be ok! i am SO relieved!
The anal glands are the culprit this time. I'm crying again, for joy!
From Margo RKN's mom today:
"I have some very bad news about Margo. I took her to the vet this afternoon. He thinks that she is in severe kidney failure. She is very, very sick.
He kept her and will give her some fluids, and run a blood panel. She is also impacted in her bowel. If her numbers are bad, she will need to be put to sleep. If he thinks she can have a decent life, he will give her a warm water enema, and she will need to be on laxatives and KD for the rest of her life.......She is in some pain.
To say the least, I am heartbroken. I can't imagine my life without my Little One. The vet will call me later this evening, and whatever happens, I will go get her tomorrow morning. I plan on being with her if she needs to be put to sleep.
Please, if I have to lose her, I do NOT want pictures of her with halos, wings, or anything about the 'rainbow bridge'. Her chances are slim, but there is still a chance."
