Hissing and the Vet

I've been a little better about hissing today. I haven't hissed anymore at Maurice. Of course, he has been hanging out in youngest girl's room and I have been elsewhere. I hissed some at the dogs this morning, but I haven't this afternoon.

This afternoon me and Maurice both had to go to the vet. I had to get some shots and blood drawn. But I got some great news - I lost a little weight so now I can get even more Fancy Feast. This is so great! I think I should go to the vet all the time if this is the kind of news they hand out - MOL!

Whitley is Dogster's Diary of the Day. Congrats to her even if she is a dog and she needs to be hissed some!

Daily Diary Pick!

I'm a daily diary pick today! Yea! Thanks everycat for the comments, gifts, and rosettes. Today has been pretty good, no hissing out of me. Of course, I also haven't spent much time around Maurice since he his hanging out in youngest girl's and his room. But I haven't hissed at the dogs once, so maybe I am relaxing some.

The vet called with my blood test results and all my levels are normal! Yea!! I'm glad I'm a healthy cat - and one who is supposed to get more Fancy Feast. MOL!

Hissy Missy

So I have been somewhat adjusting to having Maurice around. I even let him touch noses with me today. The humans thought that was pretty good progress - progress towards what I'm not sure, but they seemed happy about. Then I hissed. And hissed. And he hissed. But I let him sit on the same table as me without stalking him like a bird, which is what I did at first. So far, he doesn't seem to be stealing my Fancy Feast, so maybe we'll get along alright. He eats in his own room, away from my food, so that's good. He is getting a lot of attention, but at least I am still getting plenty of pets too.

Adjusting

So I am adjusting to having Maurice around. Better than the humans expected since I haven't sprayed anything (yet!) He is very interested in me but I am not interested in him. I hiss and he hisses back. But I'm pretty much doing ok. Whitley the dog is obsessed with him and wants to be best friends. I don't understand why he doesn't pay more attention to her and less to me - MOL! At least he isn't stealing my food or pets so I'm ok with it. I guess - MOL!

Congrats Finley!!

Congrats to one of my doggie BFFs, Finley, who is a Daily Diary Pick on Dogster! She is a dog, but she is a pretty good one - warm to snuggle in the winter and she let me steal her dog bed and turn it into a cat bed. Congrats!

Sometimes I will meow for more food if I am hungry.

2. Do you ever tear up things?
No, I'm actually pretty good on that front. I haven't shredded any furniture or anything, but I have destroyed things in other, stinkier way.

I LOVE chicken livers! I also like all my Pounce and Whiskers Lickens treats.

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?
Do I look like a dog to you? That is why the humans keep those around? MOL!

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now?
When I was little I lived at a shelter. Then I lived with my family in San Antonio, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks, California, then we lived at another house here in Plano.

Nap, Interrupted

Recently I've been having my naps interrupted. I don't mind the nap interruptions when they involve foods or pets. But lately a little black and white kitty has been bonking me on the head while I'm asleep in my cat bed. I think he wants to play or something but I just look at him like "why is the common plebeian cat messing with me, Queen Jezebel???" It usually makes him back off, I haven't had to resort to hissing very much. Maurice, you are really not TOO bad, but let a seventeen year old sleepy cat have her beauty rest!

I Lost My Voice!

I've lost my voice! I don't know where it's gone, but it isn't where it is supposed to be. I usually have a very loud meow - it works real well for getting the humans to hand out the Fancy Feast. But my meows have been sounding like a duck was quacking or something. Since this is so humiliating I haven't been meowing much today. I really hope my meows get back to normal, a Queen Cat can't be seen quacking for her dinner. The humans are thinking maybe I strained my meower by hissing since I seemed to have a hard time doing it. So I haven't hissed today. I wonder if Maurice stole my meower. He's been trying to steal everyone's food. MOL MOL!

The Return of The Meow

As I wrote about in my last entry, my meow was disappearing. It started sounding like a funny quack instead of my normal super-loud meow. Then for a couple days it was completely gone. I would open my mouth to meow but no noise would come out. It was so humiliating! I'm normally a VERY loud cat - I have a Siamese-like meow and I sure do like using it. So not being able to meow was horrible. But somehow, those people did remember to feed me anyway. But then my meow started coming back, quiet at first but it is getting louder and more back to normal now. I am so happy to have my MEOW back!!

We had a visitor this week, it really wasn't all that interesting to me. Except that while the human guy's mother was here, I was not allowed to eat my Fancy Feast on the table. That was annoying, but the humans sat with me while I ate to make sure no dogs stole it. Now I can get back on the table - hee hee!
