New dog in the house

So last night mom comes home. This strange looking dog came running in behind her. It wasn't until she was close enough for me to smell that I realized... it was my Chloe'! She looked so different I thought we got another dog. I guess mom took her to the groomer and the lady got carried away with the clippers because Chloe' lost all her beautiful long hair. I have to admit, she looks kind of funny :) I secretly laughed at her, but then felt bad for her because I could tell she was upset by her new appearance. I heard mom tell her she was sorry and that she didn't ask the groomer to cut her that short. I could tell Chloe' was upset because she normally chases me and torments me when I'm out, but she just laid on the floor quietly. Hopefully I get the old Chloe' back both personality and appearance wise. Mom says she'll grow her hair back and I sure hope so! Check out her page to see what she looks like.

All by myself... again

Mom, dad and Chloe' all left Thursday night and didn't come back until Sunday... they left me by myself again! Mom said she was sorry, but that I should get use to it because the weather is nicer and they will be going to the moutains more often now. I guess it's not that bad because I do get to see my Kelsey when mom's gone since she comes to take care of me. Also, Chloe' is nicer to me when she gets back because she missed me while she was gone. I do miss cuddling with mom though because I do love her. She made it up to me when she got home though and sat with me on the sofa all night while we watched Survivor. Yeah for J.T. who won!! Nothing much happening here. Memorial Day is just around the corner and I hope everyone reflects on what the true meaning of the day is really about. Mom found a little poem that she wanted to share with everyone. I for one give great thanks to those who fight for our freedom.

In Flanders Fields
(John McCrae, 1915. )

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Yea!!! Our Hershey Bears are heading for the Calder Cup!! Mom was so happy last night and bouncing off the walls that she scared the poop out of me (of course, that doesn't take much... LOL) She said they beat Providence in all three games in Providence which was a surprise since they struggled in Hershey. Mom said they now play Manitoba Moose who finished 1st in the entire AHL. Hershey finished 2nd in the AHL so this will be some battle. I hope the Bears win because it's been a while since they won a Calder Cup. I love when mom is happy and when our Bears do good, that makes us all happy:D

A real quick note to my Memorial Day weekend... I did nothing. Mom, dad and Chloe' went to the mountains again so as usual, I just laid around and chilled. There was a storm one night that scared me a little, but I didn't get too upset as it didn't last very long. Kelsey and Brett came to take care of me. It was nice to see Brett since I never get to see him anymore. I was glad when mom got home though because I do miss my people when they're gone. I slept with mom all night and didn't wake her once. I was just happy she was home:)

Scary night!

Last night we got a really bad storm and boy was it scary! It thundered and lightening and rained so hard I thought the house was going to float away from all the water. I laid tight up against mom because I was so scared. She held me and petted me and told me it was okay that I didn't need to be scared. I'm so glad my mom was home with me because it really does scare me when it's like that outside. Chloe' try to calm me down too, but I wanted no part of it. The storm lasted about an hour then finally stopped... thank goodness. I was comfy with mom having her arm around me that we both ended up falling asleep like that once the storm was done. It's rare for me to allow mom to hold me like that, but I liked it last night. Normally I lay with her, but she knows not to try to hold me because I don't like feeling restrained. Anyway, I survived the storm and hope there isn't another one anytime soon.

Do you like my awesome new page the Smudge's mom did for me? We love the Hershey Bears and my mom asked if she could do a page to cheer on our team. She did an great job too!!! In case ya'll don't know it, the Bears are playing for the Calder Cup which is like the Stanley Cup but for the AHL. We are all so happy in our house that we are bursting at the seams with excitement. They are playing the Manitoba Moose and won the first game 5-4 in OT on Saturday in Manitoba. They play tonight there too. Keep your paws crossed that they win! I'll keep everyone posted. Mom and I will be listening to the game tonight for sure.

Another very bad, scary night

Last night was so scary I almost pooped my fur. I was laying on the bed with mom when it started flashing and booming like you wouldn't believe. Mom didn't wake up and I was so scared that I jumped down on the floor with Chloe. God love my dog because she didn't move away from me like normal. She let me cuddle against her and she kept me safe. Mom finally did wake up and was frantically looking for me. She finally saw that I was with Chloe and picked me up and held me in bed with her. I squashed so tight against her and under the covers to try to get away from all the thunder and lightening. I was shaking like a leaf, but I knew mom would protect me from the bad, scary storm. It wasn't a good night, that was for sure. It finally stopped and I was better.

Another reason it was a bad night was because the Hershey Bears lost game 2:( The series is now tied 1-1. Mom said they come home for 3 games now and she really hopes they win all of them and win the cup at home. I hope so too because I know that will make mom really happy:)

My mom is crazy!

Last night mom came home from the hockey game. I know that's where she was because she was wearing that jersey and hat she always wears. She says it's the good luck charm since the Bears haven't lost a playoff game since she's been wearing them. So anyway, mom comes home, picks me up and starts dancing around and yelling... They won! They won! They're going for the cup Tuesday! My mom went crazy and it freaked me out!!!!! I held on for dear life, even though I wanted to bolt as far away from her as I could. I haven't seen mom this crazy in a long time. Boy, I hate to see what happens if they win on Tuesday... I better hide... MOL:) Mom finally calmed a bit and put me back on the bed. I watched her for a few seconds to be sure the "crazy mom" didn't come back, but it didn't so I relaxed. Needless to say, the Bears won which I'm happy about, but I can do without that "crazy mom" that comes along with them winning:)

Not a good night for the Bears

Yesterday when mom came home from work she was bouncing off the walls again. She cranked up the hockey music and was doing the "crazy mom" thing again. Fortunately for me, she didn't include me in it. I was laying on the bed and she came in yelling "Go Bears!" and all kind of stuff and did jump on the bed and pet me, but at least she didn't grab me like before and dance around. I can handle the "crazy mom" when she doesn't touch me:) This went on until her and dad left for the game, however, when they returned, I knew things weren't good. Mom seemed very unhappy. She let me out of my crate and I jumped on the bed, but sat on the edge to see what was wrong. She came over and sat down and pet me and told me that the Bears didn't win:( I rubbed against her to let her know that I was sorry and that it would be okay. It seemed to help her cheer up a bit. She did say that they still have a chance to win, but now they have to go back to Manitoba to do it. She also said that I might get to watch the game with her if they put it on TV. I'm not sure I want to do that though because I know the "crazy mom" will arise again and freak me out! But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Mom came home from watching the game last night and was yelling her head off... THE BEARS WON THE CUP! She grabbed me and swung me around doing the Bears chant. She was so happy and although I was freaked out by mom's excitement (that's why they call me the wussy pussy) I was happy too:) I've never actually got to see the Bears of this hockey thing, but it's a huge part of our house and it's always fun when this kind of thing happens. My mom is nuts though. I was sleeping peacefully with her in bed when the alarm went off at 4am. 4AM, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!! Mom said they were going to the airport to see the Bears come in. They are all crazy! When mom did come back home, she said that they went to the Giant Center and Matt, Lauren and her got to hold the Calder Cup and have their pictures taken with it. That is way cool! Mom was really beat when she got home so we crashed in bed. I was tired too from all the excitement. So, our Bears did it, they brought the cup back!

Happy 4th of July (early)

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! I know it's a couple days early, but mom is going to the moutains and won't be home until Sunday. That means I'll have the entire place to myself:) I just hope we don't get any scary storms like we did last night. It was really bad. The lightening flashed and the thunder cracked so loud it hurt my ears! Mom wasn't home so I just hid between the pillows. She did come back before the storm was over and held me so I felt better. Anyway, have a great holiday and be careful! Don't want anyone getting hurt with those firecrackers!
