Arrival Story: We were driving down a busy street at night and thought we saw an opposum crossing the street. We quickly realized it was a kitten. It took two days to catch him because he was a fast runner and good hider. We finally captured him sitting in the middle of a bush.
Bio: We originally thought Newman was a girl. After the first vet visit, she was revealed to be a he! He is named after two Newmans - his "rescuer" thinks his beautiful blue eyes remind her of Paul Newman. The "driver" says he thinks he will be saying "Newman" alot like Jerry did to Newman, the mail carrier, on the Seinfeld television show!

It seemed like good time to get up since I had been sleeping since 8:00 p.m. the night before. I got in my eight hours of sleep! Time to back up a day and tell you what happened before I finish my story!
The MRS. went to Facebook yesterday and told all those crazy cat Moms that I was available to the lowest bidder! Something about the full moon, blah, blah, blah, and me being a wild man. She was offered lots of stuff: a piece of candy corn, free shipping, $1.00, and raking leaves in our yard for my exchange! She almost took up the leaf raking offer - MOL!
So, this morning at 4:27, I went over to wake up everybody with the miniblinds, but they had been pulled up really high and the big bolster pillows were in the window blocking out that full moon light. When the miniblinds are pulled up high, guess what? The two cords are really long! I found them on top of the bolster pillows, and started playing with them.
Trip #1 out of bed for the MRS.
Then I jumped on the big tall dresser and found an invisible growth chart on the wall, so I started measuring myself.
Trip #2 out of bed for the MRS.
Then I decided to try the miniblinds one more time.
Trip #3 out of bed for the MRS.
Next up - go to the other dresser and knock over the little glass dish that holds a bunch of earrings. That really got some attention!
Trip #4 out of bed for the MRS. She had clean up to do on this trip.
Then there was a tap, tap, tap, tap noise, and the MRS. asked the DD, what was that?, and he said it was cat morse code, and that is why we have so many stray cats show up in our yard. But the DD said it is called Morris Code in cat language! Dang, he is a real comedian at 4:52 in the morning!
Then Violet showed up in bed because he heard the Morris Code, and he started massaging the MRS.'s shoulder. After getting on the dresser one more time, I was put out of the bedroom with the door shut.
Trip #5 out of bed for the MRS.
Now, you cats know that a closed door isn't going to stop me! I started doing my pitiful mew noises, and then if I bumped it just right, the door would rattle. I continued that for 5 minutes until they couldn't take it anymore, and the door was opened!
Trip #1 out of bed for the DD.
At 5:15, I decided to take a little catnap! Now, are there are more bidders out there?
Late this afternoon, I went under the little table in the living room that has a tablecloth over it. That is where Calvin spent most of last weekend when he wasn't feeling good.
I've never been under that table before. The MRS. and the DD think maybe I'm missing Calvin.
We have three of them at our house. I wonder how many you have at your house?
One of ours is on the wall by the MRS. printer on her desk. Another one is on the wall next to the big tall dresser in the bedroom, and the third one is on the wall in the pass through area between the living room and the sunroom.
Can you guess what they are? I like to take turns and use each one because everyday you grow just a little, and you need to check out how tall you're getting.
They are growth charts. Only cats can see them. I stand in the perfect place and stretch against the wall as high as I can reach. Then I look up and see what number I'm on to know how tall I'm getting.
