Arrival Story: We brought Pixie home on Saturday, June 28th. My husband had gone to the pet store the week before and told me that a rescue organization had an abundance of kittens, so I went to see them the following week. Mary, who also fostered Pebbles and Joy, asked me to take Pixie (then named Connie) home for a week to foster her. Yeah, right! Mary thought she was using psychology on me. After playing with the kittens for a couple of hours, I went home and casually told my husband about my time with the kittens, how Pixie had unique markings, and what Mary said. He then mentioned that Quincy, our dog, chewed and broke his retractable leash during their walk, so now we had an excuse to go back to the pet store! They waived the adoption fee since they knew us, but we left them a donation in their jar anyway.
Bio: Pixie and her mama and brother were pulled from a kill-shelter when the kittens were three weeks old. Her brother has been adopted but her mama, a gray tabby with white paws, is still with Mary. She was about 10 weeks when we got her so we gave her the birthdate of April 15, 2008. Tax Baby!

That's why I'm a Flying Monkey! I think I'm the head flying monkey in this house, so it was the purrfect role for me, even though those wings of mine were from a bat hat. MOL!
I'm not a very cuddly-wuddly cat. I don't particularly like being carried and I'm not into being smothered with kisses! I "eeek" every time it looks like Mom wants to try to carry me or give me a kiss.
There are a couple of exceptions. When I'm hungry I jump on Mom's or Dad's lap and am very vocal and affectionate. And, I still like to sleep under the covers with Mom, and that's when I like affection and lick her fingers.
Mom says she doesn't know what happened to me since she spent so much time with me when I was in quarantine for a couple of months when I first got here. Gosh, she sounds so needy.
I don't even cuddle with my siblings but I like to rub against them sometimes and bite them and play with them, on my terms.
If I were bad, then I could tell you how I broke a lamp, ripped the curtains, kept my parents up all night, beat up on my siblings, and stuff like that, but I'm not. But don't get me wrong, I run fast and play hard!
I can tell you what I learned to do though. I finally figured out how to open the cupboards where the treats are! I usually go running to the cupboards when I want a treat, put my front paws up on the edge of the door and try to open it. I was never strong enough before but now I can do it!
I heard something about childproofing the cupboards.
