Arrival Story:
My little cat "Murder" passed away in between the deaths of my mother and my estranged, but very best friend still, husband. With a total of 3 deaths in less than a month I had vowed to not grow attached to any thing else. Unfortunately, the home I share with my adult son seemed to grow very lonely. So one day I mentioned to him that I was thinking of getting a new cat and naming it "Mayhem" and immediately his girlfriend caught some of the ferals that seem to live outside of her house. It had all happened too quickly...suddenly the thought of another cat scared me...how could I suffer the loss again? Unfortunately, due to my hesitation my son's girlfriend let the ferals go and they disappeared for good. Shortly thereafter I started to think about getting a cat again and I started to look for cats at my local Pet Smart, cats that would be called "Mayhem", the cat I found would have to fit the name. One day I went in and they had a big fluffy cat that reminded me of Murder and I got all excited. I went home and talked to my whole family about the cat. Finally, I asked my fiance, Matthew, if we could go to Pet Smart, once again, and he said yes. Still scared of making a decision alone, I asked my son if he would go and then, he asked his friend that had just come over to go with us too. Needless to say, four people went over to look at the cat. When we got there the fluffy cat ignored me. The fluffy cat ignored Matthew. The fluffy cat growled. It did not like any of us! But in a cage at the other end were two little tiny kittens a Tortie and an orange and white short hair. My son said..."hey mom...look at this cute little kitten it looks like a "Mayhem". Needless to say that little kitten was Mayhem. In trying to decide what to do I ended up calling my oldest daughter and her husband to come see the kitten. Everyone had to help me decide...everyone had to let me know it was okay. In the end Mayhem came home! I am so glad I made the decision to get her as she ended up being very very sick with a upper respiratory infection that turned into kitty pneumonia, and needing very special attention. Eye dropper fed water and Gerber brand cat food off a spoon became Mayhem's saviors coupled with tender loving care she got better. The diary entries below talk about what happened from the time she came home until now...I try to keep the entries current......

OMC....I was remembered! Mommy and me do not have internet at home anymore so it is just today that we saw the beautiful presents on my page! A special thank mew goes out to Blizzard and family, Kaci Sunshine and family, Alfie and family, Tigger, Cali, Sobe and family, Beepers, Monida and Jezebel. Mommy thought that she and I were the only ones who remembered me...but, we opened Catster and I know I am loved! Thank mew, thank mew...thank mew!

MEOW...HISS...HISS! Does everyone have this mass of advertisements? Mommy simply can't stand it! And isn't the print smaller? Mommy is straining her eyes....are we the only ones that have this new look? Mommy could not get to the comments page either for friends or coral pals....it just wouldn't let her click and the screen kept flipping. Poor old mommy can barely see the screen and she has her glasses on. Is this what we have to look forward to...mommy pulled up the page and she did not even know it was Catster there were so many ads...she actually exited out just to log in again and have the same thing. Me no likey...mommy no likey! Mommy has a "kitty litter face mask" ad and an ad for Aetna. Now granted mommy uses Catster for free and does not pay the premium price to upgrade but this is awful! Some things are bigger...some things are smaller but the are way too many ads! Well, mommy is outta here...she does not like the new look!

MEOW AND OMC! Thank you kitties one and all! Mommy and me do not currently have internet at home so it was really pawsome to come onto Catster today and see that I was honored by being chosen Diary of the Day yesterday! I have never received such an honor before! So many nice prezzies and so many nice pawmails. I even got pictures done for me as remembrance tokens of my DOTD honor! Mommy should be proud of me now so,...THANKS TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! Maybe now mommy will see my mouse catching skills as a good thing! Who knows maybe she will give me the pats and rubs I deserve for being such a wonderful protector. Did she not know that I was protecting her from that REALLY BIG field mouse...with it's REALLY LONG TAIL....WITH it REALLY SHARP GNARLY TEETH? I mean would she not have preferred to find it dead...versus find it in the middle of the night nibbling on her toes. I wonder what silly mommy would have done then? Maybe mommy should have more respect for me....after all...I AM THE CAT!
