Arrival Story:
I was looking for a companion for my dog Sammy and went to look at Ragdolls. I found a great breeder (the kittens were very socialized) near Buffalo, NY. I got Andy when someone else backed out of their obligation. Sammy and I both fell in love with him. He was raised around big dogs and he thinks he is one! I never realized that Andy would be such a wonderful companion. He is the BEST. Sadly, Andy passed on September 20th, 2012. He quit eating and drinking the days before and was frequently losing his balance. He is missed by all.

Bio:
Andy says: "I have had a long journey from Western NY. I loved Sammy (a Husky/Shepard mix), my dog who raised me and when she passed away, both me and mom went into major depression. We finally got through that and then Ellie (a Golden/Am Eskie mix) came to live with us. I loved Ellie, but she only lived 1 1/2 years and she, too, broke our hearts. I got sick and almost died. Mom took me to the vet. The vet said I had liver failure and should be put down. Mom fed me by syringe and did alternative medicine on me and I am now better than I was before. I almost died, but that was over a year ago and now I am fine. So much for vets!!!! Now I have to contend with TWO sister dogs (Riley-a Golden and Scout-a Belgian Turv) and although I like them and frequently sleep near them, they need to know their place! Mom wants to get another ragdoll, but she doesn't want to upset me.....I have to be the KING!" Well....she DID get another cat....I STILL don't know if I like him...but sometimes when I feel nice, I lick his fur and make him feel better. I try not to let mom see it because FRANK gets away with so much and HOGS her time!

Andy is getting old and has been eating and eating, drinking lots of water and losing weight. I have been terribly worried about him and did not want to take him to a regular vet (he hates regular vets and I don't like them much too....one told me to put him to sleep ten years ago because he had liver failure....HA!). He yeowls all the time and occasionally messes where he should not (I am sure this is pain related).

After a trip to the ALTERNATIVE VET here in Texas and his blood work: he is NOT diabetic, he has good temp, liver values, and no thyriod issues. He does have spleen, kidney and spleen issues. The vet prescribes a probiotic (!), and jade spring and VSG (Chinese herbs), and one day later, he is not yeowling, he is not marking, he is acting like he feel better and is sleeping well. YEA! Who knew that cats need probiotics like we do?

LOVE the Alternative Vet!

My Dear Friend Andy:

You are the last of a great line of friends with fur who have passed. I am so glad and thankful that I still have you. Like a old friend who has been there for you when times where hard, you have been here for me. Thank you for all you have given to me...old man. I love you.

ok...mom finally did it. She went and got some new cat. He spent the first month growling from the bathroom. Mom didn't sleep and we all were on pins and needles. When he decided to relax, he came out and has been terrorizing me ever since! He runs all the time.....sometimes, I pin him down and bite at him! Mom tells me to "be nice" but I can't help it! He eats my food, poops in my pan, and runs by and slaps my face! What is an old man to do? I have put up with enough in my life....I should not have to put up with this!
