Gracie has been very shy, and even tho we can tell she WANTS to come be part of the family, it's been hard for her to join in. Last night we finally saw some of her personality! She spend a lot of time wandering (not darting) around the house, and when i gave her a new mouse toy--catnip'd, o'course!--she had a blast and turned herself inside out playing!
Parker has watched, patiently, while Grace comes out of her shell. he's never had an appetite for the 'nip, so this behavior of hers was a little weird for him. Hilarious for us.
We were very happy at the end of the night. Yay!
Still can't pet her, but I'm hoping very, very soon...

we're having fun now!
Grace has decided that dinnertime is the only appropriate time for giving and getting any loves. But during the dinner hour, she's a HUGE purr motor running, and she can't get enough! We also make a point to play with her every night before bed, because she's got a lot of the "kitten" in her still--meaning, she's up ALL NIGHT!
She's got some major skills with the feather toy! I can see some fantastic instincts when she snatches that thing out of thin air and we have a tug of war to see who gets to keep it. (I ususally win...) But i do see that she's going to put Parker to shame when it comes to hunting bugs in the house. Hooray for that!
She's still sleeping under the bed. And she's very shy of any strangers, but she's definitely gotten used to the household and I'm very pleased with her progress.
Not sure when I'll attempt to trim her nails... not yet!

so, it's been several weeks since an update, and Grace is much more at home with us. She's taken over the house and wants to play ALL the time now. Parker is getting pretty tired of her constant crazies...
The lover in her finally revealed itself too! Boy, when she's in the mood for a good scratch, her motor comes on and there's no stopping her. She'll follow you all over the house until you give in. The only thing she won't tolerate is to be held yet--but i'm working on it.
Parker and Grace chase each other thru the house and it sounds like an earthquake is hitting. And when it's play time, and the feather toy comes out of the closet--watch out! Grace can FLY to catch that feather, and boy does this girl have some skills!
That's the good report for now!
Gracie says "Meow" and have good day!
