Hard to believe it's been 3 weeks today since Cybil passed to the Bridge. I think of her on a daily basis and miss her presence in our family. I know the girls miss her too, especially my older daughter, but we will always have the most loving and sweet memories of Cybil. She will never be replaced or duplicated, that's for sure!
Recently my friend Nancy Medina came to visit from Flower Mound, Texas for a couple days. When she visited 2 years ago, Cybil made sure to give Nancy a proper greeting and white hair treatment. Any of my friends who have ever come to visit remember Cybil distinctly because she loved on them the same way. . . . over the years I can't tell you how many women said they would love to take her home! Well, Nancy has a true heart of gold, and what did she do after she returned home? She painted a beautiful portrait of Cybil this past week honor her memory.
Although I have not see the portrait in person yet, only a picture, as it still has to dry before being shipped, I am sure if it's anything like Lily's, it's just stunning. The portrait already has plans to hang in my daughters room as she appreciates art and I know will be thrilled to have an 'original' Cybil all to herself.
Thank you Nancy . . . thank you, thank you, thank you!
Nancy also recognized Cybil on her beautiful Blog as well, which is a must-see!
Speaking of blogs, I have started one as well, called A New England Life. It really seems like a good time to branch out and do a little something different. Something inclusive of the animals I love so dearly, along with other parts of my life I cherish as well. We will still be here on Catster, but just not as much. Sometimes change is a good thing. I hope you will stop by, and if you have a blog of your own, let me know. Of course my very first post just had to be about Cybil!
Thank you again everyone for your kindness shown towards Cybil and I . As I mentioned before, between work, kids, and a hectic life, I just can't find the time to thank everyone individually and feel terrible about it, however, I hope you know I feel your love.
Cybil, I know you are the most beautiful white angel ever! Love you sweetie!
Love,
Mom

And oh how the years go by
And oh how the love brings tears to my eyes
All through the changes the soul never dies
We fight, we laugh, we cry
As the years go by
Love, Mom

Here I sit, enjoying the view and seeing all my old friends that I haven't seen in some time now. My, oh my, don't they look beautiful too! I guess that's what happens when you arrive at the Bridge . . . you get a full makeover!
I know Mommy was pretty sad about letting me go, even though she told herself she wouldn't be, but luckily for the both of us, our Catster friends have come from far and wide to show us love, compassion, and support. Though we cannot thank each and everyone of you on a personal basis . . . (over 70 Stars, Gifts, and Rosettes! Not to mention the pmails and pictures!), . . . we want you all to know how deeply touched and moved we are. Your loving and thoughtful words have meant so much to mommy, and I know for a fact she has read each and every one of them!
The day my soul left this earth, Mommy planted a whole flat of white Impatiens she had bought a few days before. A simple act, but one that made her feel like she had honored me somehow. All Summer long she will watch those flowers grow and think of my love. Not to mention the white puffy clouds flying overhead ; ) Mommies life tends to be very busy, so hopefully she will move forward and heal quickly.
Well, I'm off! Off to enjoy another glorious day! All my friends, old and new, are planning a party . . . it's a Welcome Home party for all the latest Angels to join us. Seem's like it's one party after another! MOL!
Sweet Angel Kisses to all,
Cybil
*ps - there's a new photo show on my page of the final pictures mommy took of me, if you would like to see it.
