Arrival Story:
When I got Harvey from my breeder, Harvey's mother had just given birth to another litter of kittens, and...well, I just like weird-looking cats. Actually, Leila's coloration is very orthodox--her parti-colored face is called a "blaze," and a plus with tortie and whites. I simply chose her because I liked her coloration; her personality remains a bit cold (think of those blondes in Alfred Hitchcock movies). After weaning her kittens, she now has no use for them, hence Chibi (never pregnant) lactating and nursing them. But Leila is a beautiful cat, and I enjoy every moment I spend looking at her. I now know that, as a Maine Coon, she has her faults (bad muzzle, ear set, nose line), but she is simply a beautiful creature.

Bio:
Leila became a Champion with the CFA in January 2008. She had seven kittens with that SEXY Umesaburo, another CFA Champion, on October 7, 2008, and is a happy and tremendously efficient mother. I named them "The Magnificent Seven," and Currier is still with me--there were a few offers, but they came after we'd bonded and I decided to keep her. Leila had her second litter on October 22, 2009--"The Stupendous Six." Even though she had a proper birthing box, yup, she gave birth under the bed again, next to a (brrr!) cold north-facing wall. But the birth (I saw all but two of the kittens being born, from around 2 am to 4:00 am), was easy and uneventful, and Leila never looks happier than when grooming her kittens. Once they're weaned, though, they get no more motherly love. Cats is cats. Update: one of the kittens was weaker than the rest from birth, and my vet warned me that he might not make it. Alas, he died just as the kittens were starting to be weaned. Now they are "The Fabulous Five."

I just LOVE being a girl. My favorite color is pink, and I like those intact toms I meet at cat shows, tee hee hee.
