For a few days we had the most wonderful thing in our house! It was this great big TREE! It had lights on it and it was AWESOME! Probably the best thing my parents ever put in the house for me. I laid under it. I tried climbing it once, but mom wasn't real keen on that. It was great! They even laid these big boxes with paper on them underneath that were tres comfortable to nap on.
THEN, ALL OF THE SUDDEN...
Mom starts taking it apart and putting it back in a box! Can you believe that! Who knew you could take a tree apart in the first place?
Anyway, I'm back to my old perch on top of the reclining loveseat, but I'm telling ya... I'm gonna miss that tree. I hope they change their minds and bring that back.

Yesterday I discovered the coolest toy ever! The little person at our house is very artistic and got a new set of supplies for Christmas. Well she was working on a masterpiece when something purple and shiny hit the floor. It was long and skinny and bendy. The more I touched it, the more the shape changed. I think Mom called it a pipe cleaner. I call it ten tons of fun!
I batted it and chased it and carried it and threw it up and smacked it. It was fabulous! Maybe I'm a good artist too! :D

My mom and dad had lots of people over this weekend! No, not for the Big Game, but just in and out.
On Saturday night, mom & dad's friend came over to visit for awhile. She's a kitty person so I didn't bolt under the bed immediately. She wanted really badly to love on me, but I wasn't having it. Hey, I stayed in the same room with her... what else does she expect?
Sunday afternoon, one of the kiddo's friends came over to visit. She was a little freaked out by me since she doesn't have a cat, but mom taught her the String Game and we got along pretty good. She didn't really want to pet me and I really didn't want to be petted, so things turned out okay.
It was just our family for the Big Game and that suited me just fine. They were making too much noise for my taste anyway. :D

Yesterday was sosoooooo busy at our house, and I don't mean in a good way!
Mom came home work early from work, which rocked, but then she started vaccuuming the floor.. which I HATE! I ran and hid in my favorite spot under the bed.
Then, there was this really big truck that parked in front of our house and Mom locked me in her bedroom! UGH! I hate when she does that!
Then these big guys get out of the truck and bring this big white thing in our house. Mom called it a dryer. Well, they made a ton of noise and I didn't like that not one little bit!
Then Daddy's dad came over and helped Mommy clean out some vents with this GINORMOUS vaccuum and you can imagine how fun that was for me. BLECH!
Then to top it all off, Mommy wouldn't even let me sit in the new dryer! I love sitting in the dryer. I can't understand why she won't let me do it.
Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of the bed in the bay window!

You went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. We're going to miss you very much. I'm giving Mommy extra snuggles for you.

We had some of my favorite weather over the weekend! I love thunderstorms. I love sitting in front of the big-screen HD cat TV to watch the rain and the lightining. While the dogs are running and hiding, I'm sitting in my perch enjoying the show. Saturday afternoon, I even got to see the hail! That was so cool! I pawed and scratched at the window trying to catch some.
Am I cool or what? :D

Family went out like they usually do on Sunday morning and let me have my nap. When they got back they had this big pot of stuff in their hands. Mom put it on the floor in front of me. It was green and leafy and tasted wonderful! Mom said it's grass. Wheat grass to be exact. Some lady at the church grew it for centerpieces for the Easter breakfast and she let Mom and Dad bring some home for me!
I love it! Mom put it in my favorite window. I nibble it and I love to rub my face in it.
Grass ROCKS!

I knew something was horribly, horribly wrong when Mom got that stupid box out. It's plastic and has a wire gate on it. Occasionally, they put me in there and take me places. I'm more of a homebody really, so I don't generally like to go.
So Saturday morning comes and Mom gets out the box and expects me to be thrilled about it. She puts my mouse in there and a chicken treat, hoping to lure me into its plastic grasp. I resisted, so she grabbed me and shoved me in there. I was persistent, but eventually she prevailed... DRAT!
So Mom and Dad put me in the car (which I hate) and drove me to the VET! Of all places they had to put me in the box to take me to the VET??? Have they smelled that place? YUCK!
So they take me out of the box in this little room. Two ladies come in and start talking really sweet to me. I'm thinking, "Hey maybe this won't be so bad. They think I'm handsome. (As well they should.)" BUT.. I didn't see they had NEEDLES! Needles for ME! Needles that they poked me with. The Indignity of it! They trimmed my nails too. I hate that. I like my nails. I work hard keeping them sharp. I won't even tell you where they put the long stick. It's just too horrible to describe.
So the Sisters of Suffering left and I was alone again with Mom and Dad in the Little Room of Death. Mommy was talking really sweet to me and I hid my face in her arm. You know.. "I can't see you so you can't see me." It was working pretty well when there was another knock at the door.
So this younger guy walks in. Mom and Dad seem to know him and apparently they like him. He thinks I'm handsome too (as well he should) and he takes me and starts feeling me all over. Okay, this I can do. He's a little poky but I'm a tough dude. I can handle it.
So he tells Mom and Dad that I'm awesome but getting a little fat patch on my lower abdomen (SAY WHAT!). They agree that I'm supposed to start eating Indoor Formula food (whatever that is... just keeping it coming as I deem appropriate, K?).
FINALLY, they brought me home. I disdained them for the rest of the day... until my food bowl was empty. A man has needs ya know...

Mom and Dad finally had a show on their TV that is worth watching!
Yesterday afternoon I was snoozing on my perch on the back of the couch when I heard the most intriguing noise. It was a CAT! At first I thought it was another kitty in my house, but then I realized that it was on that TV box that the Family is always staring at.
It was a female cheetah and she was calling for her babies. I rushed right over to the box to see what was up. I watched the cheetah and her babies until they walked off the screen. Just when I was about to lose interest, there was a LION! A female lion and her babies! Well this was some pretty cool programming! Finally something that appealed to my feline aesthetic! The cats called to each other and played. I watched as the cheetah mom rushed a gazelle. I saw her fighting off hyenas.
It was almost as good as my HD Big Screen Cat TV. :D

Thursday, the Family went out and brought back another DOG! What were they thinking? The first thing it did when it came into my house was to CHASE ME! The nerve of that BRAT! Mom calls it a terrier, but I call it a HOLY TERROR!
In protest, I hid under the bed for two days. Mom put up the baby gate across the bedroom so that Stevie (that's the commoner's name) wouldn't terrorize me (see I told you he was a terror!) but that I could get used to him on my terms.
Well I'm back out amongst the Family again. I'm still not thrilled with this new addition, but at least Mom & Dad have stopped him from chasing me all the time. He's not so bad I guess, but I still hiss at him. As long as he leaves me alone, things will be just fine.
