Quick Bio:

Arrival Story:
My pet oriental albino siameese cat Trixie expired after 12 years with us followed by the death of my dad. As a single child bachelor, the human as well as pet loneliness made life torturous and hence purchased "Mata Hari" from a pet dealer at a kings ransom of Rs 14,000(U.S$'s 350) from Mumbai's famous Crawford market. A case of extremities since "Trixie" was adopted by me as a sick kitten free of cost from the same market but a different pet dealer.

She is absolutely cute and a poster card photogenic specimen of her breed. As a kitten she is frighteningly overactive with tendencies to climb and has been rescued from accidental falls numerous times and hope she matures with age.On march 29th 2009 Queen cat Matahari gave birth to 6 kittens, all survived to maturity."Matata", the first born kitten and the only "Odd Brown" coloured kitten was retained by me and he has his own "Cat story" on "". Queen cat Matahari has one of the cutest cat purrs absolutely musical and aristocratic.

Lives Remaining:
9 of 9

Forums Motto:
Queen of hiding.

Loves playing "HIDE AND SEEK" with her human owner. Gets into empty openings and drawers and hides, waiting for us to search the entire house. This has happened on numerous occasions during her life-time from kitten-hood.Once we even presumed her lost, thinking she wandered out of the house door and into the open bad World of feral cats.

CAT MATAHARI FALLS DOWN FROM THE KITCHEN LEDGE ONTO THE BUILDING PARAPIT :- Got up early in the morning at 0600 hrs and as usual switched on T.V. Suddenly housekeeper Sabina told me that she heard some "Meow's" coming from the Kitchen and that it was Matahari's voice. I searched the kitchen thinking she had hidden in a corner when suddenly i heard the "Meow " loudly and my worst fears came true. She was prowling on the small ledge 5 floors from ground having definitely fallen from the kitchen ledge. My years of "SHIPPING EXPERIENCE" of "Fire Fighting| and "Emergency boat drills" came to my aid as my house-keeper just panicked at the horrible sight.I quickly fabricated a "LIFT" with rubber tyres as ropes and attached the same to the plastic "Carrier Box" that i had used to cart her to the "Cat Show" in Goregaon.Gradually lowered the carrier from my window sill onto the parapit ledge and she quickly jumped into it like a trained cat. I pulled her up akin to pulling water from a well. Thankfully everything went well and on coming onto terra firma she behaved as if nothing had happened and ate her morning food provided to her. She has utilized more than 9 of her "Cat Lives": today. It was a sheer miracle that she didn't go tumbling 5 floors below to the ground of Vaibhav Apartments.Explaining the sequence through a pictorial view. She is alive to witness and attend the "CAT SHOW-2016" !

Sunday(11-10-2015) :- A few snippets of the "International Cat Show India" held at Bombay exhibition centre in Goregaon. I took my veteran 8 year old "Matahari" in her cage pinion on my motorcycle on a daredevil ride on the Western Express highway.Got to meet old fellow cat aficionado's and owners and also meet new cat owners.A few snippets of the show.Got to also attend a "Cat Birthday" of 2 year old cat "Christina" with owner Mrs Ansari giving us a cake.Last year at the first cat show in Mumbai i was one of the "Unofficial Photographers" and nice to see a large participation of Cat owners and some different breed of cats besides the Persian cat. My cat "Matahari" sat like a queen in her enclosure and akin to the "Great Houdini" evaded the judges in winning a prize !The South African Judge Mr Anthony.Aldum commented on her "Yellowish white colour" stating that a white Persian cat should glisten pure white. The same can be attained by bathing the cat frequently which is not possible in my house as then there would be "Cat-Fights" between "tomcat "Matata" and his dam "Matahari".The Judge also commented on her "Jaw-line" which has become weak due to age and gum- infections..We both returned home safely in peak Mumbai traffic.

Today the cupboard drawer happened to be open while i was working on my computer.I later closed the drawer and continued on my desk-top work. After a few minutes i noticed tomcat Matata jumping on the bed and sniffing at the closed drawer. He also began his usual "Yowls" and i shooed him away from my "Study/Bedroom".Later my house-keeper began searching for Matahari and it was then that it struck me that the cat might be shut in the cupboard drawer. Sure enough on opening the drawer spotted her sleeping casually. She just loves getting into any enclosed space.
