My New Home!

Wow! I have a new home. I was at an shelter for awhile and had to live in a cage. Everyone was very nice to me there, but nothing compares to having a real home. My new Mom and Dad are very nice! They bought me a new bed, just like the one I had at the shelter. It is helping me feel right at home. I also have a new brother named Ben. He is a Bengal! He is very curious about me and follows me around. Right now I just want to settle in and get used to things. My new parents found me on Catster! I was listed in the adoption section. Thanks Catster. Now I have a forever home!

Ensign Charlie reporting for duty

I have joined my brother, Ben aboard the USS Snowshoe. I am only an Ensign for now, but hope to move up in rank by working hard and learning all that I can about the ship's operations. The USS Snowshoe is an amazing ship and the crew welcomed me with open paws. I am happy to be serving with Ben. I can learn a lot from him and everyone else.

Getting Settled

I am starting to get settled into my new home. After being shuffled from place to place I really don't know where "home" is. Mom and Dad have been very patient with me. They keep telling me that this is my forever home. I hope that is true. I didn't eat for the first few days, but I started to eat yesterday. Mom was very happy. She was worried. I spent the first 3 days in the bathroom, but tonight they left the door open. I found a new room to explore. I am under the bed right now, but Mom and Dad brought all my stuff into this new room. This way I can slowly get used to all the rooms and feel comfortable at my own pace. My bed, food, water, litter box and scratching post are all in this room now. I also have some new toys. Maybe tomorrow I will try another room.

Brother Ben

I am finally getting more comfortable with living in my new home. Tonight I got to officially meet my brother Ben. Mom and Dad kept me in a separate room for a week to help me adjust. They put Ben in the cat carrier so that I could see him from under the bed which was my hiding spot. Ben is very clever and was able to undo the latch to the carrier. Mom and Dad let us meet and now we are wandering all over the house! Ben is giving me the grand tour. We are also playing and getting along great! Ben took me out to the porch! I like it out there. I think we are going to be great friends!

Letting Go Of The Past

Like my Star Trek song says "It's been a long road getting from there to here." But my time is finally here! Things are going so much better for me. I am much more comfortable in my new home now. I am not as scared as I used to be and I don't hide very much anymore. I let both Mom and Dad pet me and I spend almost all my time upstairs with my family. My Brother, Ben, has become my best friend. I am so glad to have him. I want to thank Catster for all they have done for me. If it wasn't for the Adoption Center, I wouldn't be here now! That was how Mom found me. She told me that she knew, the minute she saw my picture, that I was the cat she was looking for! I have never felt special before. I still have some healing to do but I am slowly leaving my past behind me. The future looks bright! I am even learning to play! I didn't know how before!

I am Mr. September

I can't believe it! Mom and Dad entered my picture in a calendar photo contest and I was selected! It is a calendar of animals that found homes through Pet In Need animal shelter. This is such an honor. The best part about being Mr. September is that my Dad was born in September. I am his birthday kitty! My winning photo is now my main Catster photo so you can see it.

The things I am Thankful for

Mom says that it a special time of year. It is Thanksgiving time. This is when everyone counts their blessings and gives thanks for everything they have. I am probably the most thankful cat on the planet! The #1 thing is my new forever home. The people in the shelter were nice. They fed me and petted me, but I still had to stay in a cage most of the time. There were many other cats there too. I never got a lot of attention. Now I have a REAL home with people who love me! My human Mom and Dad were very patient with me and gave me all the time I needed to feel part of the family. My brother Ben, is awesome! He really helped me adjust to my new home. I am very grateful for him. I also give thanks for my bed (which Dad bought just for me!), my toys and good food to eat. I am thankful for Catster. Without Catster, Mom and Dad would not have found me at the shelter! Also through Catster I was able to join the Furry Federation. Everyone in the Furry Federation made me feel welcome and part of something. I never had that before. I also met Margo! She is my girlfriend! (at least I hope she thinks of me in that way) Now I have been selected to be in a calendar! WOW! I am SO greatful. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

All I Want For Christmas Is.....

For Christmas I would like to have more courage. I have a wonderful forever home now, but I am still scared sometimes. Mom always feels sad when I am scared. I know deep down inside that I am safe and loved, but I still have a lot of fear. I would also like to have healthy clean teeth. I guess that Christmas wish will come true, because Mom is making an appointment for me after the holidays to get my teeth cleaned. I have a gum problem right now. I would also love to have a DVD made just for cats to watch. I LOVE to watch TV, especially when there are birds and mice on. That would be very nice. One thing I know- I am very lucky to be spending Christmas with my new family. That is the best present of all!

I have been promoted to Lt. Commander of the USS Royal Bengal! What a wonderful way to start the new year! I am greatly honored by this promotion. The Admiral promoted me himself! It is an honor to serve.
