Brown paper bags are the best!

August 31st 2007 10:19 pm   [link to this entry]

Like many other cats I just love the adventure and sheer excitement of a brown paper bag. I have been playing with such a bag during the last few days. My owner John captured my fun with a little video camera.

The first video is me chewing the handles. The second and third video will reveal that I am quite capable of a blinding attack! Enjoy!

Saved my house from burning down!

August 18th 2007 9:49 pm   [link to this entry]

On Thursday I did something quite amazing! I was sleeping on my bed in the living room when I heard something and I then smelt this strange horrible odour which I had not smelt before. My owner John was in one part of the house near the bedrooms and I went looking for him. I was alarmed and concerned. I miaowed loudly and was looking back down the hallway.

I think John thought that perhaps there was a burglar in the house and he gingerly went to investigate. I stayed in the bedroom. When John reached the living room at the other end of our home there was smoke gathering around the ceiling! There was a fire! John looked for the seat of the blaze but could not find any. There was just smoke thinly accumulating near the ceiling. Perhaps a "down" light in the ceiling had shorted.

John called his neighbour Dale. He switched off the power. He had a look in the roof but found nothing. They went back to the living room and came to the conclusion that the TV had shorted based on the smell of the smoke. They restored the power and the TV was indeed dead. Perhaps it had made a loud noise when it shorted. Anyway, they all feel that I am a legend and perhaps I had saved the day!

Our smoke alarm is further away, nearer the bedrooms. I think the smoke would have eventually set it off if John had not opened the windows and the door. I was uneasy for quite a while afterwards. I hid in the main bed during the drama.

Set up the RSS feed for my diary

August 10th 2007 10:43 pm   [link to this entry]

Being a reasonably tech savvy cat I have set up a RSS feed and now my diary will appear in John's jaiku feed on his home page . That is pretty cat-cool. I have just moved from my bed and I am now lying on the lounge next to John.

I have some other photographs that you might like to have a look at if you have a spare moment.

Well, I gotta go. I need to cat-alogue some toys.
