Bio:
Bebe was born in a drainpipe in an urban cat colony. She was rescued and brought to the shelter where I adopted her when she was two or so. She can hold her own against any cat but is not by nature the alpha. She is my guard cat, always coming to check out who has arrived. Her past life on the street keeps her relaxed by at a distance until she knows you--then she is the biggest sweetheart. DDP - Dec. 19, 2008 DDP-May 10, 2010 DDP-May 28, 2011

I was a DDP!

I'm so glad I found out I was a DDP last week. If I missed anyone to say thank you to I apawlogize.

Meowmie had to go away for five days and missed my DDP. Our catsitters did their best on food, medicine, water and litter boxes but there was a mix up and we did not get fed for 24+ hours the last day meowmie was away. One of the sitters came down with bronchitis and asthma and we're not sure if she just didn't show up or called the other sitter, but in any event we were starving when meowmie got home, we had almost no water and the litter box runneth over. This combo of sitters worked well before but this time did not get to the finish line very well so other arrangements will be made when meowmie is away in the future.

I'm still on the powdered medicine and meowmie is once again patrolling that I eat it all and don't let Meep muscle in on my dab of cat tuna. She is not sure I got all the medicine I should have. She wishes I could talk people talk and tell her . . .

Bad medicine part II

Meowmie gave up on giving me pills. I would not swallow them whether they were unceremoniously deposited in my mouth or snuck into my precious tasty turkey cat food. So sneaky meowmie went to even sneakier vet man and got some icky yellowish powder.

I'm supposed to get 1/16 of a teaspoon twice a day. what in tarnation is 1/16 of a teaspoon? Meowmie and the nice reception lady worked very hard on figuring it out, weighing empty bottles and then subtracting that weight from the medicine bottle. Turns out I need .3 grams twice a day and that meowmie's food scale does not register that small an amount. So she is putting eensy little bits in the middle of my nice wet turkey cat food. I try to eat Meep's food but meowmie is policing me as much as she can and she is not sure how much of the nasty powder I am actually eating.

So far I have had only small accidents outside the box since going to the vet man and my poops are a little bit better too, so meowmie is going to work diligently on getting that ugly medicine into me. I heard mention of some cat tuna coming my way tonight. I hope the tuna taste is stronger than the medicine because I am learning to eat around it being the smart cat princess that I am, I mean, a girl needs to keep her strength up.

Pills-- Help!

Yesterday meowmie and Auntie Bean took me to the v-e-t. I did not want to go but I had some poop accidents and meowmie decided it was time for professional attention. They are testing the poop for parasites, bacteria and other baddies as I write. The v-e-t has done this before but the tests always come back negative. I've also take probiotic powder but that didn't help at all.

In the meantime I've been given some pills to help with the diarrhrea. This vet is very nice and very willing to work hard to get me better. That said, meowmie told him I will spit out every pill I'm ever given, I won't eat greenies or other pill pockets, I won't eat any people food and I am not going to eat any foreign objects (like pills) snuck into bits of my cat food. The vet tech said to put me into a separate room with a tiny bit of food and the pill until I learn that I have to eat it in order to get the rest of my food. Meowmie tried that this morning and I ate around the pill. She checked on me after an hour and when she saw I didn't eat the pill she took the food away.

I tried to eat Meep's food as soon as I got out of lock-up and he snapped at me! Then he got scared and is hiding.

So meowmie is writing to ask your help on what other techniques she could possibly use because she wants me to get better without stressing me and Meep and herself. She's tried all sorts of different cat food and litter and I still have poop problems. Next week she goes back to work and is looking to establish a new routine before then, the Great Cat willing. . .
