Arrival Story: We found Sophie in a trap last July in the middle of a heat wave, we don't know how long she was in there, but she was going into shock. We immediatly cooled her down by letting just her paws get wet in cool water. I had never seen an animal so skinny,every one of her ribs and all of her spine was was visible . She was just a bag of bones with the biggest scared green eyes. Silly me, I called animal control, thinking that they would fatten this little girl up and find her a good home, boy have I learned a lot since last year! It took a long time to get her to trust us.She was hardly "the perfect kitty" not even close! She hid, cowered and hissed at us from the back of her cage. The poor thing was just terrified. Just gray fur covering her boney little frame and the biggest scared green eyes. The vet told us before we could get her spayed that we needed to to add another 3 pounds on to her. It took me two weeks of hand feeding her but I did it. The funny thing was it was daddy who she had come to adore, even though it was me who was down on my hands and knees, feeding her , taking her to the vet (maybe that is why she didn't like me) She ADORED her daddy! But I wouldn't give up, it took me six months of being patient, being kind and then one night, she jumped up next to me and put her paw on my face and looked into my eyes with her beautiful green eyes and gave me head bonk! Every night since then it has been her ritual, before I go to bed, I get my head bonk, and she has learned a new trick , she gently love bites the tip of my nose!I love my Sophie and am so lucky to have such a wonderful friend.

I want to thank all of my friends who stopped by to wish us Happy Bday and give us gifts. Our friend Bailey Grey Cloud and Sampson Silver Dollar sent us a lovley bouquet of roses.

Being the eldest cat in the family I am entitled to make the announcement that everyone is having a birthday tommorow!
Mom doesn't know exactly for sure when our birthdays really are being how we were all born out in the woods but she figures April Fools is as close a date as any. We are not sure if the April Fools is directed at us or at herself. We are guessing it is a herself, cuz we are some pretty smart cats around here! Heck we live the life of luxury!
I will be turning 2 years old tomorrow and Charlita, Tiffany and Ellie Mae will be turning 1 year old. Mom says that she is ready for the other girls to pass the 1 year mark, and that hopefully they will start to "slow down a bit"
I am really happy that mom brought the other girls home and let them stay. It has given me a chance to prolong my kittenhood a little bit.
Before Charlita came into the picture I was all alone and was getting kinda sedentary. Now I have so much fun in the morning playing our favorite "chase game"
Mom says tommorrow we are going to have a special day.
She won't tell me all the details yet, cuz it's supposed to be a surprise, but she says we will all be extra spoiled tommorow. Happy Birthday to us!
Well, I finally got my human to add another diary entry.
She has been making all kinds of excuses about how she has been too busy!
Since my last entry our family has expanded. We now have EllieMae and Tiffany blue , two of the fosters that were living here over the summer that have made their way back home .
They are okay I guess, nothing really seeems to affect me one way or the other. Charlita seems to be more put out than I am... But then , Charlita always seems to have her tail in a kink about something!
I've been doing really good, except for the fact that mom and dad have been closing the bedroom door because EllieMae likes to play allnight...
I like to sleep in the bedroom...Why should I be deprived when it is EllieMae who is the one making all the noise?????
