Arrival Story:
My father in law found him wandering in a large local park by the river. He was so friendly he jumped right in the car with him.
Bio:
We think Orvis was dumped in this park. He had worms, and had a bite wound on his tail which has healed. Because of his bite wound, although he has tested negative for aids and leukemia there was a small chance he would be positive later. Luckily, this turned out not to be the case but he got used to coming to my office and still does so during the weekdays. He loves the attention and the older guys, quite frankly, don't miss him. He is a sweet little cat who craves affection and he does love his siblings.

Hi Friends,
Mom heard from Ko's oncologist today. The pathology was inconclusive as to cancer, or what kind. The only way to tell for sure is to go through Ko's mouth and cut out samples; you can't go through the outside because the jaw is so compromised by the tumor. Mom doesn't want to do this as Ko was so uncomfortable just by having the needle go in the tumor. So, as the doctor says she is almost positive this is cancer, we will treat it as such and try some chemo that may help. This is a pill we will give Ko starting Monday, and she will be rechecked a week from this Saturday.
Mom is trying to do her best by Ko and is hoping this is the best course. There are no good answers with mouth tumors in kitties. Right now Ko is active, seems comfortable and with her appetite stimulant is eating.

Hi Friends,
Thanks so much for your purrs for our dear Ko. My folks took her to the oncologist today. She thinks that Ko may have fibrosarcoma but she won't know for sure until she gets the biopsy results back mid week. We do not want Ko to have surgery or radiation, but we are willing to try a new chemotherapy pill that may slow the growth of the tumor with little or no side effects. Mom is also experienced in feed tubes for kittys so we will also consider this to keep Ko's quality of life good. You see, with oral cancer a kitty may become very ill or die from the effects of not eating even before she succumbs to the cancer. The doctor also gave Ko a new appetite stimulant. Ko is now resting and Mom believes her jaw is sore from the needle biopsy. We are hoping she will feel like eating more tomorrow.
I am going to be a very good brother and be very quiet so Ko can sleep.

Hi Friends,
Mom has received very bad news about my older sister, Ko. Ko was under anesthesia for her dental when her doctor saw a large mass in her jaw which has destroyed jawbone; the doctor did not want to go ahead and clean Ko's teeth as she was afraid her jaw would break. Mom is taking Ko to the oncologist tomorrow morning. She is hoping that there is something that can help Ko stay with us comfortably a little longer.
