Arrival Story: RJ use to greet me at my car everyday when I'd get home from work. It was obvious he was a street cat, his nails were really long, he was skinny & had grease/dirt in his ears & on his fur. None-the-less he was a charming handsome young fellow, who would follow me to the back yard where I would feed him. He never wanted to be pet, but would sit right next to me and was very sweet. He would disappear for weeks at a time, but he always came back. Finally I noticed he wasn't leaving and he would sleep on the porch or the bushes and always came when I called him. I noticed he had a wound on his neck and he let me look at it & clean it. Instead of getting better, it got worse. He started sleeping more...I would find him in the bushes. Even though he must of been feeling pretty bad, he was trying to put up a brave front and continued being as charming as could be. I took him in for his first vet visit to find out what was wrong. They found a Cuterebra...large fly larva...living in his neck. We had it was removed and he had all his basic tests & vaccinations done. Then RJ started his new life as an indoor kitty - quarantined until all his tests came back clear. Then he was slowly introduced to his sister Rasta. He was finally able to relax and enjoy his life as a cat with no more worries. He was fascinated with everything...especially his new sister. ("Lucky me" , Rasta says) He is such a funny, happy, sweet guy. I am forever grateful that he found me.
Bio: RJ stands for Ravi Jr. He is named after my friend's cat Ravi because that is who he reminded me of when he first started coming around.
