Favorite Toy:
A catnip-stuffed tube

On a fuzzy blanket right next to two large windows: a room with a view

Favorite Food:
Steak and cream: kitty treats are an acceptable substitute (barely)

Arrival Story:
Bliss showed up with two brothers on a wintry January night on our deck--begging for food--while still a kitten. I scooped all three up, and scooted them down to the warm downstairs where I closed the door to the upstairs to keep them from having to interact with the three cats we already had. I got to know all three really well over the next three months, and absolutely fell in love with Bliss. He was less agressive and sweeter than his brothers: a true beta male. He got his name because whenever I held him he got an expression on his face of pure kitty ecstasy. When we introduced the three to our resident three cats we found out, sadly, that the two more agressive brothers couldn't get along with our older male cat, and had to give them away. But I wouldn't have let go of Bliss for the world. His mellow nature paid off, as he got along well with the older male. I thought he would miss his brothers, but I think he had gotten tired of being pushed around by them. He has had my heart ever since.

Bliss was an incredible blessing in my life, and though not trained as such he was a true therapy cat. I've struggled for many years with several--at the time undiagnosed--tick-bourne diseases, and I credit my survival in a large part to his sweet steady influence. He would always demand that I go to bed with him if I was tempted to stay up late, and demanded a lap any time that I really needed rest but didn't want to. And he turned those rests from a drudgery into paradise by the adorable postures he would relax into while he was asleep. I am truely grateful for his gentle yet insistent presence, and he got the nickname NurseCat for good reason. I lost him on March 31, 2007 when he was out overnight, probably due to the presence of coyotes in the area. He was getting older and not as fast and as good of a jumper as he used to be. I'll miss him always.

Musings from the Rainbow Bridge

Thanks for Remembering Me!

It's really hard dictating messages to Mom from the Rainbow Bridge, but I wanted to let everyone know how much it meant to me that so many of you remembered me on my Rainbow Bridge Day. Mom teared up a lot when she saw the gifts, as she realized how much she missed my sweet gentle self even though she's completely in love with my sisfurs Minnie & Penny. She really appreciated it, but it took a bit of time to write about it because she's been struggling with anemia and had to go to the hospital several times last week for iron IV infusions. She's doing much better now, but wants very much for you to know how grateful we both are for the kind gifts that were sent!

Thanks to all for remembering my Birthday!

Wowee, I've got some of the best furriends on earth *and* at the Rainbow Bridge! Thanks so much for all the giftees: when Mom realized it was my birthday and saw the gifts she got all teary-eyed, because I was such a gift to her, and all you friends are too! So I sent down some angel dust to dry up those teary-eyes and give Mom a smile, then set off to see if I could break the Rainbow Bridge record for longest conga line ever (we're almost there)! Niptinis fur everyone!

DDP again! Oh my, I was so surprised and wondered what good I could do with all the extra people viewing my diary. Then, in the way that all divine mischief strikes, an idea occurred to me. My friend Pansy has a tumor in her lung that there is, well, nothing to do for. Here's a link to her page so you can read her diary: Pansy
Don't let the sassy drama queen exterior fool you: she's a sweetheart, but a great deal of fun too. So if any of you who read this can go to her page and give her the gift "Big Hugz" with a kind meassage, it would be so great for the Power of the Paw. No zealies? None required for that gift! Give as many as you like to your friends, too.
Here's hoping that my DDP can do something good for those that I love, and you might love too!
Angel Purrs,
