Arrival Story:
Bliss showed up with two brothers on a wintry January night on our deck--begging for food--while still a kitten. I scooped all three up, and scooted them down to the warm downstairs where I closed the door to the upstairs to keep them from having to interact with the three cats we already had. I got to know all three really well over the next three months, and absolutely fell in love with Bliss. He was less agressive and sweeter than his brothers: a true beta male. He got his name because whenever I held him he got an expression on his face of pure kitty ecstasy. When we introduced the three to our resident three cats we found out, sadly, that the two more agressive brothers couldn't get along with our older male cat, and had to give them away. But I wouldn't have let go of Bliss for the world. His mellow nature paid off, as he got along well with the older male. I thought he would miss his brothers, but I think he had gotten tired of being pushed around by them. He has had my heart ever since.

Bio:
Bliss was an incredible blessing in my life, and though not trained as such he was a true therapy cat. I've struggled for many years with several--at the time undiagnosed--tick-bourne diseases, and I credit my survival in a large part to his sweet steady influence. He would always demand that I go to bed with him if I was tempted to stay up late, and demanded a lap any time that I really needed rest but didn't want to. And he turned those rests from a drudgery into paradise by the adorable postures he would relax into while he was asleep. I am truely grateful for his gentle yet insistent presence, and he got the nickname NurseCat for good reason. I lost him on March 31, 2007 when he was out overnight, probably due to the presence of coyotes in the area. He was getting older and not as fast and as good of a jumper as he used to be. I'll miss him always.

Operation END EVIL Needs You!

DDP again! Oh my, I was so surprised and wondered what good I could do with all the extra people viewing my diary. Then, in the way that all divine mischief strikes, an idea occurred to me. My friend Pansy has a tumor in her lung that there is, well, nothing to do for. Here's a link to her page so you can read her diary: Pansy
Don't let the sassy drama queen exterior fool you: she's a sweetheart, but a great deal of fun too. So if any of you who read this can go to her page and give her the gift "Big Hugz" with a kind meassage, it would be so great for the Power of the Paw. No zealies? None required for that gift! Give as many as you like to your friends, too.
Here's hoping that my DDP can do something good for those that I love, and you might love too!
Thanks!
Angel Purrs,
Bliss

Wowee, sending angel dust to you all!

DDP again! Thanks again to all of you who wrote to me: touching your hearts gives my life even more meaning, so I am thoroughly grateful to those who were moved by my story. P-mails from Buddie, Big Harry, Friday, Smiley Cassanova and WeBees, most with pictures for me, were fantastic!
The conga line celebration is on hold this time, though: Operation END EVIL has commenced here at the Rainbow Bridge. All of us kitty angels (and dogs too) are showering down as much angel dust as possible for Pansy and her family. Her joining us may be inevitable--as it is to us all--we want to put it off as long as possible, if only to make the welcome wagon as spectacular as it can get. Mom's heart is with her too!
Thanks again!
Angel Purrs,
Bliss

My Heavens! (Or should I say "My Rainbow Bridge!" MOL)

Wowee, what a time to celebrate, to be Diary of the Day today! I'm doing the Rainbow Bridge equivalent of the Snoopy Happy Dance! Today brought a real smile to Mom's face, and that always makes me extra happy, with more new friends added as well. Hooray for sure!
Such kind words and poems have been shared, Mom sends out huge thanks to those who have shared their own experiences, or words that have comforted them. It does bring back the memory of one of the hardest parts of my disappearance: I vanished just before Mom had to move to a new house across town, so she only had a month to frantically search for me before she had to give up. Maybe it was a mercy in some ways, keeping her from becoming obsessed when deep inside she knew I was gone.
However, those memories are cathartic, and time has healed many of those wounds. Mom really loves the new house dearly, not to mention its two darling Tonkinese occupants who keep her very busy and much amused with their antics.
There are the happy memories too, though. One of Mom's favorite things in the world while I was alive was the way I cuddled in the crook of her arm next to her as she slept, and she kept saying that it was like waking up in Heaven every morning, and she never wanted to get up. If it weren't for the--er--bodily necessities I don't think she would have! And then she also says I saved her life by curling up on her lap while she rested. She hated to rest--she wanted to get stuff done instead--but since she hadn't been diagnosed with all of the infections at that time, rest was the only thing keeping her alive. Yet just cuddling with me turned rest into heaven too. I was very good at that--creating heaven on earth--while I was alive. Who knows what wonders I can work from this side!

Thanks to Platelicker & family for the goregeous crown, Milo & family and Ashlynne & family for the tulips, Grace and Harley & family for the rainbows, Mac & family for the rosebud and Luigi & Smiley as well as Lexi & family for the beautiful birdies. Such sweetness! Also thanks to Sammie, Buddie and Rory for the p-mails. Thanks goes to WeBees (Minko & Pipo), Rory and Sammie for the photos too, helping me commemorate this special day. :D
Catster friends truly are the best. Whoever helped save our community should be blessed with seriously good karma!
