A tiny, energetic little furrball leapt up on the shelter cage, biting and scratching me. Love at first sight! First kitties don't come any better than Mozart, and we are so thankful for him every day.
Bio:
Mozart is the sweetest, most laid-back kitty ever. He lets us pick him up and get cuddled even when he's not in the mood. Unfortunately for him, this is often, as he is the fluffiest boy, and we can't resist! He is highly tolerant of most situations, and is not easily stressed. He doesn't get fazed by anything, and will sleep right through even the loudest sounds. He loves his leashed walks around the neighborhood, with his tail so high in the air it's bending toward his back! He's also fearless, and establishes boss cat status quickly. When he was a 3 lb. baby and a giant Great Dane got too close to his carrier, he snarled and swiped that dog right across his face, sending him backwards whimpering. He's also slapped a neighbor's dog when she dared get too close. He is so well-behaved, but with a very stubborn streak, and thinks he is human, getting up on his hind legs often, or sleeping on his back between his Mommy and Daddy. He also thinks he is king of the castle, surveying his domain. He is definitely the top cat in this household, and Daddy's special little boy.

My nemesis has been visiting every day, and I don't understand why Mom keeps putting out food for him, and his whole family!! I'm not sure what they are, but they're colored like me, only they're smaller, and they have really big fluffy tails. They like to sit on their hind legs. Mom calls them "squirrels". She tells me they're cute, but not as cute as me. That doesn't make it any better.
Today, though, I saw a black cat outside on the deck! Mom ran him off; she said he was the neighbor's cat. Then she let me go outside for a minute to make sure he was gone. I was much happier after that, and even happier when she gave me a snack. I must have done something really good.
Well, I've got to go, I'm really busy. I have a full napping schedule planned.

I don't know why we couldn't go out earlier, I was really curious by all the noises and things dropping from nowhere outside. Looked like fun, Mommy's such a wimp, she said she didn't want to get wet. I don't know what that means, but I'm sure it's fun. Anyway, Mommy finally took us out for a leashed walk today! All my bugging finally paid off. Kitty tip #1: run around your parent and meow pitifully over and over again, and eventually even the most stubborn person will give in. Kitty tip #2: If tip #1 doesn't work, then leap on their back/shoulder, and dig your claws in real good.
I had a really great time outside, I got to sniff everything, and enjoyed the sunshine. I didn't want to go in, and wailed at Mom, but it didn't work. She made it all better by giving me and my siblings a Fancy Feast treat.
