"The "Cat-o-9 Lives" of Trixie: The Story

TRIXIE -"Cat-0-9-The Memory lives"

Dad Louis Furtado expired on 15/8/2007 between 2100 and 2200 hrs, never recovering after the demise of his non-human companion "Trixie".
He was totally devatated by her death, weeping and a day or so later collapsed into his usual sickness, gradually weakening and never recovered.
Bizarre, but true "Trixie" and her favourite human companion Dad died within a fortnight of each other.
Modern science has proved that pets are therapy for human patients as well as companionship for the elderly and lonely, a cure to depression.
Our house-hold and myself have been witness to this fact.

Trixie's favourite human companion of our house-hold, my dad Louis has had a drastic health collapse after her demise as he was most attached to her and she to him.Cats akin to dogs take a liking to a single person in the house-hold, although they like being petted and pampered by everyone in the family.
At age 83, being totally confined to the house , Trixie was my dad's only solace and to be honest he was also responsible for excessively pamperring her, beyond discipline and "Cat manners".
The fact that pets are a source of companionship to lonely single, aged or childless people has been practically proved in our small house-hold.
Dad was absolutely uncontrollable on hearing Trixie's death ,in fact she died just below his bed ,one of her favourite resting places in the house.
Dad has had a total health collapse after Trixie's demise and hope he recovers for age is not the positive factor.
As for me, Trixie's demise is akin to a family loss, she had her own peculiar mannerisms and shortcomings, the house is definitely a lonelier place without her antics.

Trixie succumbed to her pro-longed illness on Sunday(5/7/07) between approx 2200 to 0100 hrs at home near to Dad's bed.
The strange case about this disease is that she made a full recovery and again suddenly succumbed abruptly to the illness. Her physical deterioration was rapid within a span of 2 days beginning with refusal to eat food and excessive intake of water finally de-generating into total collapse of physical equilibrium.
Buried her today morning(Monday 0930 hrs approx) at the sea-face beach near our house at Prabhadevi where my previous two pet dogs were also buried.
As mentioned, since our household is miniscule and me being a bachelor our pets are our companionship and "Stress relievers", hence Trixie's absense is immensely felt.
Surely, with the passage of time the loss of our pet cat would be firmly entrenched in my memory and as usual i would get a pet to be my "stress reliever" as well as companion.
Lord Tennyson had said,"Its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".
"Trixie, you remain in our memories and thanks for the joyous moments you provided our house-hold with'. owner- Rudolph.A.Furtado
