indoors Arrival Story: One morning I drove the dogs to the dog park near our house before going to work. As soon as I got out of the car, Mercy started meowing loudly at me from a tree inside a huge empty lot that was secured by a chain-link fence. When I called to her, she immediately jumped off the tree and came to the fence but I couldn't figure out how to get her over to my side. As soon as I dropped the dogs off at home I brought her some food and water and slipped it under the fence. My husband went to check on her after he got home from work. At the time, we had our cat Bibi, who was very ill from cancer. I worried about Mercy all night and the next morning she was back in the tree. I walked around and finally discovered a larger opening under the fence, called to her, and she crawled right out. She didn't mind being picked up but she was shaking. She appeared to be clean, so I thought for sure she was lost. Our vet thought that she was about 7 months old and she had been spayed. She was scanned for microchip identification, signs were posted, but no one claimed her. We were so happy! Bio: Mercy was a blessing as our 17-year old Bibi shortly succumbed to her cancer. She was a good girl that was also fun, confident, affectionate, goofy, and polite. She absolutely loved being talked to and responded by giving us short meows while squirming around in odd positions. If my husband or I coughed, cleared our throats, or talked to each other while she was napping nearby, she would let out a meow with her eyes still closed because she thought we were talking to her. A wonderful role model to her siblings and that's why they all loved her. Forums Motto: Precious Angel
Well, we had another friend tell us that one of my old Thanksgiving photos showed up on Facebook. We don't have a FB account but Mom was able to find it.
While the comments that were made were all in fun and no one claimed the photo to be theirs, Mom has decided it would be best to remove all my costume photos from my page because this issue started with them being on this website in the first place.
We left most of my photos wearing collars and a few with hats, but that will be it for now. We're sorry that your comments had to be deleted along with them.
I sure have some great friends who recognize me right away in cyberspace. Thank you for looking out for Mercy Me!
Dad was saying to mom to just think about where I might have ended up if they had not saved me from living in and around that tree. It was scary out there.
That first day when mom put me in the bathroom with a bed and litter box I went right in the bed like I was so glad to be home! I was a perky young girl and stayed that way as an adult.
Well, I had two friends tell me that I'm famous! My Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz photo showed up on LOLcats / I Can Has Cheezburger today. Did you see it? This means people I don't even know thought about me today on my Gotcha Day.
I know my photo is here and out "there" on the Catster FB "wall" though we aren't on FB.
But, that's not as important as those of you here that have thought about me today and sent me sweet messages and gifts. Thank you for making this day extra special!
I know my family, especially mom, never gets through a day without thinking of me.
