Stranger means Danger

We were all just chillin' the other night when the doorbell rang! We had unexpected company. I hid in my most secret spot. During the visit, Mom kept trying to find me. She was sure I hadn't snuck out when she answered her door, but just had to know for sure. The visitors stayed for over an hour while Mom kept taking quick looks all over the house for me. Visitors left, and then Mom went crazy trying to find me. The crazy fool even looked outside. In my good time, I left my hiding place and showed up at her feet! I sure had her worried.
Meanwhile, Squirrel flirted with the company and acted like a normal cat. Hard to believe we are sisters.

We've all been tagged lately but had no clue what to do. So, for the first time, I will try....

I've been tagged by Damienne,
Here are the rules:

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write in their own diaries about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary!

1.) My sister and I were found abandoned in the bush, moments from death. Actually minutes from death, as you will read when Mom writes our story soon.

2.) I am a very beautiful cat, but don't know it.

3.) I am very gentle with all the cats and dogs that were here when I got here. I'm even gentle with bugs, and the mouse my sister and I once caught. (Mouse survived and was released.)

4.) Mom brought me to the vet, again, shortly after my first vet visit, because she thought something was wrong with me. Because my belly was huge! and tight! and you could play the drums on it! Vet said I was just eating too much to make up for when I had no food. I was fine. No worries.

5.) Mom brought me back to the vet as I needed a second round of antibiotics to cure my URI. Even now, I still sneeze a lot. But no more green gunk.

6.) When I want to play laser, I tap my Mom's arm while she is watching TV. She thinks that is cute and immediately fires up the laser toy.

7.) I love my sister Squirrel.

I’m tagging:

Mr. D.

Our Mom is home!

I was really worried that we might never see Mom again. When she got home last night, it took me a while to believe that it was really her and she was home. Once I did, I let her pet me and fuss over me a bit. The reason we were more upset than usual while she was gone is that Peaches is not here anymore. She kept us company when Mom was gone. When strangers came to feed us, we followed Peaches. We were lost without her.
But everything is okay now.
While I was napping, Mom came and lifted the blanket and showed me something. Then she left and went into the livingroom. I was very interested in that nice smelling thing. So, I got up and there were OUR BOOGIE MATS! Squirrel was already having a great old time with hers so I joined right in. Squirrel got bossy and we scrapped a bit over mine, but we do each have our own!
Thank you cats for talking Mom into getting us these cool things. Mom promised to make us a Youtube video about them sometime soon.

Mom came back.

Mom came back from her Mom's funeral a week ago. I hid from the catsitter, again. I hid from Mom when she first got home, but not for nearly as long as the last time she left us. We are happy to have her home again. I have started coming to bed with her when she first retires and doing what Peaches used to do. I beg to be petted and I head butt her book, her pillow and her. And I make cute little meows like I used to do with Peaches. Mom is very happy about that. She knows how much I loved Peaches. I did my best to make Mom happy to be home and maybe help her feel better after losing her Mom.

The True Story About the Mouse

Squirrel got a lot of attention over that mouse that she has in her photos. But the real story is that I did all of the work. I'm the one who sat out in the wind and rain and waited patiently for the little mouse to come into our cat run. I caught it. Then Squirrel came to see what I had. When I showed her, she snatched it then ran into the house with it and got all of the credit. I don't mind because I'm going to catch another one soon. Squirrel doesn't have a fraction of the patience that I have. That is okay when you are catching grasshoppers, but not mice and maybe, one day, birds! Some birds have come into our cat run, but Mom noticed and didn't let us out there until the birds found their way out.

I'm being more cuddly with Mom lately.

Mom went to lie down and read a book today. I joined her. Then, I fell asleep with my chin on her arm. I've never done this before. But guess who used to? Peaches. Mom thought that was very sweet of me.
Then, just now, I was making a racket in the front entrance. She came to see what I was up to. I showed her a worm that had snuck in the house.
So after 4 years, I'm starting to earn my keep a bit!

Cat Tunnel and Mouse

Squirrel goes on and on about her mouse catching abilities. But WE caught another one today. Squirrel brought it in the house and upstairs to show Mom while I waited for others. Mom was very pleased partially because we are such good hunters and partially because we don't hurt the mice we catch.
Mom even bought us a cat tunnel today! She put it on the floor in the sunshine, and we played with it while she snapped a few pictures.
Life is good.

Mom finally put some pictures of me on here with a mouse! We caught our fourth mouse in two weeks last night. It took Mom an hour to catch this one because she had to move a lot of heavy stuff to get near it. Once caught, it was released unharmed into the yard.

Mommy's Girl

Mom says she is very pleased with me. A while back I started coming to bed with her and snuggling while she reads. Well, I’ve been doing that for longer now and actually napping right beside her book. And for the last 2 nights, I’ve actually crawled under the covers and slept with her for the whole night! Mom says that proves that even after 4 1/2 years that I’m still getting better and still learning to trust her and appreciate her more. I’m glad I’m making Mom happy.
Then later, Squirrel comes to bed and we have a Mommy sandwich! Me under the covers on one side, then Squirrel on top of the covers on the other side. And Mom squished in between us.

I'm a happy cat.

Squirrel and I have had a special week. We are in the finals for the photo contest! Who would have thought that.
Mom has a few days off, so that means extra attention for us. We like that and so does she.
