Lily tagged me so I guess it's high time I started a diary!

The rules of the game are:

Nursing Home visit

Since I really like going for strolls, Mom decided to take me to the nursing home she works at today in my stroller. I did great! I let a few residents pet me and made their day! Some people smiled and said at first they thought Mom had a baby in there! One Alzheimer's resident also thought I was a DOG (probably because I'm so big) until several people kept telling her I was a CAT and I finally meowed! I got several comments on how good and nice I was too! Mom will have to take me back occasionally as an unofficial therapy cat...

TCA Cat Show

Wow! Mom entered me in the Traditional Cat Association (TCA) Household Pet photo show a few months ago (just for fun) and we just found out I won! I received 1st place Best Senior Cat, 1st place Best Couch Potato, 1st place Best Senior Champion, and co-2nd place Household Pet Alter Champion! I am so excited and Mom is so proud of me! Summer Stroll for Epilepsy

I had a great stroll today! Mom took me to the Summer Stroll through the park for Epilepsy today. Mom thought is sounded like fun and it was for a good cause. My vet even agreed to sponsor me and donated for the event! Anyway, I had a great time on the stroll and everyone loved me and my stroller, especially the children. Luckily the weather cooperated too and it wasn't unbearably hot. Dad took a few pictures and Mom posted them on the last page of my photo album.

I received 3rd place in the Page Geek category of the Pawsome Pages group Film Festival '07. Mom and I decorated my page with a Garfield the Movie theme. Thank you to every fur who complimented me on my page and voted for me! My little brothers Linus and Mr. Fez also received Honorable Mentions. Special thanks to PJ for his help with our banners.

Vet Visit

I am not feeling very good and Mom had Dad take me to the vet today. Mom would have taken me but she had to work. After taking some x-rays, my vet said I have bronchitis and gave me two shots, an antibiotic and a steroid. I was sent home on an injectible antibiotic, ampicillin. I don't mind shots as much as pills and liquids. I seem to be feeling a little better tonight and hopefully will be all better soon. My vet is also thinking I might have feline asthma too.

Feeling better

I am feeling much better now, pretty much back to normal. Mom says I still have to finish all of my medication though. Since the steroid shots helped, my vet feels I do have feline asthma and is looking into getting medication in a topical gel form that can be rubbed on my ears (I hate pills and liquids). Mom and I are just happy I'm feeling good now.

Another vet visit

About a week ago Mom noticed I have a little bump on the rim of my right lower eye lid. My vet looked at my eye and said I have either a sty or a little tumor. She said if it is a tumor, these are usually benign. So, she recommended just watching it for now. If it gets bigger, seems to bother me, or red irritated looking to call and they will then schedule surgery to remove it. Hope it's nothing...

My first CFA cat show

Mom took Linus and I to the Midwest Enthusiasts of Wonderful Sphynx (MEOWS) CFA cat show in Racine, WI yesterday. I was entered in Household Pet (HHP). There were only 3 HHP entries at this show so I did pretty well! I got Best HHP in 3 rings, 2nd Best HHP in 2 rings, and 3rd Best HHP in one ring. So I received 6 pretty rosettes and 6 stuffed animals as awards. Mom says I can't brag too much though as there were only 3 entries. I was the only "true" HHP though. The others were: an 8 month old F-2 Sphynx cross kitten... with a ton of fur and a 7 year old Japanese Bobtail who's tail wasn't right for showing in Purebred. I was easily the oldest cat in the show at 12 years 4 months old and some of the judges seemed impressed with the great condition I was in for my age. Not sure if I will be going again as I did get a little cranky by the end of the day and started hissing a little at the judges. Mom thinks I got mad when one judge was playing with my short tail - I hate that! Mom is still very happy with how I did and very proud of me! I even tied for Best HHP in Show at the end of the show - but they only had one rosette for that and somehow they decided to give it to the kitten!
