Arrival Story:

Bio:
Zuni is a goofy kitty. She is easily distracted. Sometimes she will be snuggling with me, and then she will just put out her claws and take off. She does this if she suddenly wants to play with Cauliflower, or if she gets startled by a noise. The other cats know that she is unpredictable, so they give her a wide berth! She is shy with strangers. She usually watches them, but they can't necessarily see her. Non-cat people aren't too crazy about her because she's not outgoing like our other two cats. However, the cat people really appreciate her "cat-ness." She's a silly girl and we love her!

Thank you everykitty for your lovely gifts. I got back preliminary results today, and the vet says that the results so far confirm lymphoma. My pawrents gave me Prednisone yesterday & today. It makes me feel much better. I am not coughing, and I got my voice back. The pawrents have been giving me an incredible amount of loving. I got to go out on the porch with them, and I got a nice, big thing of canned food. They are going to make the best of everyday that they have with me.

Purrrrrs and little nosekisses,
Zuni

Note from Mom:

The news is really bad. Zuni has a huge mass in her chest cavity. According to the vet, it is most likely a tumor, and could be lymphoma. I saw the X-rays, and the situation is really bad. The vet gave us Prednisone in case Zuni's breathing gets really bad this weekend. We can give it to her, to make things more comfortable. The vet says that the Prednisone could give her a little more time--maybe as many as several months.

I hate to have to share such awful news. It is a huge shock. She was just having some coughing fits that had progressed to a couple of times a day. The vet had checked her out 2 weeks ago, and thought it was "reverse sneezing." The coughing had gotten worse, so I made a video of Zuni coughing and sent it to the vet yesterday. She did the X-ray today, and that's when we found out.

Thanks for all your kind words, prayers, and purrs.

Please pray for Zuni

Note from Mom:

My beautiful Zuni has been having coughing fits. The vet thought it was reverse sneezing. It got worse, so we had an X-ray done today. I just found out that has a mass in her chest. We don't know yet what it is. Please pray for my beautiful girl!
