Happy Birthday!!!!....

...To Moosh! The little red dude is 2 yrs old today! Two is a fun age. That's when a cat's in the prime of their "Terrible 2s" stage. According to my Mom,the vast majority of our furry little herd has all had their own unique version of Terrible 2s. For some of us it started at about a yr and a half and lasted until about the age of 4(*ahem* she's talking about me on that one.) HA!

Hard to believe that the MooshDORK is TWO! Time flies. So,Mooshy has been his typical bratty self today...but he got a surprise from innocent little Nikolaus earlier. They were hanging out on the bed. Moosh was looking at Abby,which she hates very much BTW,and Abby was growling. Nik got up and positioned himself at the very edge of the bed cuz he figured something was about to happen. As soon as Mom said,"Moosh stop looking at her. You need to stop tormenting Abs or she'll finally kick your rear one of these days." FINE says Moosh and he got up;walked across the bed to get down...what he didn't expect was that as he was going past Nik,that the innocent Nik had this little glint in his eye and immediately reached over wrapping both of his front legs around Moosh's middle and promptly body slammed him. It really was pretty funny to see the look on Moosh's face. I swear that I heard Nik chuckle. Moosh ended up on the floor looking totally shocked. (No worries...there were no injuries except to a bit of pride.) It really was funny. I wish we had a video!!

Actually we had a quiet day here other than that. Mom was gone for quite awhile because she had to take our Grandma back to the hospital for I.V. meds again. Apparently the normal cloud of stupidity that hangs over the local hospital was somewhat more dense today because Mom said that there were FOUR nursing and medication errors made within the first 20 minutes while Grandma was being treated. Mom is not a happy camper. I certainly hope that it goes better tomorrow. Grandma goes back to the Dr. on Monday...trust me...my Mom will inform Dr. about what went on.

To Moosh: Happy Birthday ya little brat. I love you!

Happy Birthday!!!!!

...to Charlie!!!! She is 11 yrs old today,but doesn't look a day over 6.(see what a gentleman I am?) We got some new toys. Some of those fun little mousies and glitter balls. They were great. Mom says that she will fish them all from underneath the furniture so that we can play again later...and we said goodbye to the ones that fell victim to Dutch. German Shepherds and cat toys don't mix. Alas,poor mousies,we barely got to know some of you. Goofy dog. Charlie smacked Dutch in the head. She doesn't like him much anyway. He likes to lick us,Charlie thinks that he's a pest.

I'll have to make this a quick entry because Mom has to take our Grandma up to the hospital in a bit. She has to go every day for I.V. meds and Mom diligently takes her and pays attention to everything. Mom says that those people are unbelievably stoooopid and ya gotta watch 'em like a hawk.

What?...wait.....

Ummmm I was a DDP again today? For reals? Cool beans. Thank you Catster,you humble me. To my friends that sent congrats: You guys are awesome.

We had no idea. Mom just now read e-mail from today. Ya see...Mom is sick. Not just with the usual terrible belly thing (that she and Dr. Pat are fighting with the insurance to let Mom go back to the Mayo clinic for competent specialist care.) but she now has that awful sickness that she was taking our Grandma to treatment for every day. Well...Grandma is better,but Mom feels horrible. Yesterday Mom had an appointment to see the wonderful Dr. Pat,but,sadly Dr. Pat is sick too. So Mom ended up seeing Dr. Pat's husband the evil Dr. Dave. It's a long story,but Mom and evil Dave have had a mutual intense dislike for each other for a number of years. All because Mom pointed out something that Dave did wrong and his fragile little ego was mortally wounded. Oh sniffle sniffle boohoo Dave. If I ever meet that guy I shall bite him.

Anyway...Mom is sitting here waiting for her meds to kick in and we'll go back to bed,because sleep and stuff is a good thing. And all of us snuggling together helps make the sick feel better. Right?

I'm looking at Mom and she looks like she's about ready to drop. So I shall bid you all good night and sweet dreams. Thank you all for being so great.

Hmmmmmmm

Long time no diary entry. Yeah,I've been slackin' off. Sue me. hahahahaha

Soooooooo...remember a lil while back that I had talked about a new addition to our family? Nikolaus. And I had said that Nik had a sister that we couldn't convince to come in and be and indoor cat? Guess what? The convincing was successful....BUT...it's NOT Nik's sister. It IS Nik's sibling,but it turns out that the kitty is,in fact,Nik's brother. Due to the fact that he was always carrying his tail down and because of his coloring...things were somewhat disguised. As it turns out,Nik's brother(who is currently being called George even tho we're not really sure that he likes that name) is cryptorchid. Rats! So we're gonna give him a bit more time to see if "things" descend on their own or if he'll have to have the more invasive procedure to neuter.

Nik and George are glad to be reunited. They play together a lot and seem to be pretty content being indoor cats. They are total couch hogs! George is on meds for now 'cuz he's had a case of the boogers for the last 3 days,but we think that he'll be ok.


Well...more news at a later time. It's past my nap time!

Stuff...

Haven't updated the diary thingy for awhile. Lotsa stuff going on around here these days.

First,we lovingly remember our sweet Cole who crossed the rainbow bridge one year ago today. We love and miss her so much. :(

Last week we mourned the loss of my Aunt Deb's beautiful baby girl Sophie. She was a 12 yr old Great Pyrenees. We have this really great poster sized picture on the wall of Sophie and her brother Soloman that Mom took of them when they were youngsters. I've always marveled at that pic. Two of the most beautiful majestic beasts you may ever see. R.I.P. Sophie. We'll never forget you.

Pete went to our new vet. a couple of weeks ago and had his ears worked on. He's feeling much better now. Bad infection that those other bozos just gave up on. Ben and I will probably be undergoing the same treatment soon as we both are battling the ear crud and now I have a big fat hematoma on my ear. It hurts. I feel blah.

Mom fell on the ice and hurt her wrist last month and just finally got rid of that annoying splint thing. It was sorta like when I broke my arm when I was little. Non-displaced fracture. No cast. Just a rigid splint for a few weeks. She hated it.

Many concerns about Morgan,Toby,Bug,and Ernie. Age isn't being kind to them.

Ummmm...Nikolaus's brother is officially a member of our family. His name is George. He doesn't have his own page here yet,but he will soon.

Hmmm...I'm having some issues trying to stay focused here. Too many things going through my mind all at once. I'll try to get on here more often.

More Stuff

Today we fondly remember our sweet Ashley Mae on her 21st birthday. She crossed the rainbow bridge 4 years ago. Not a day goes by that we don't miss her so very much and it's just plain hard. R.I.P. sweet Ash. You will NEVER be forgotten.

George now has his own page here on Catster. Check it out and welcome him.

Next Tuesday,the 19th,Ben and I will be going to the vet to undergo the same procedure to fix our ears. It's one of those weird things that we have and it's gotta be fixed.

Also,we're all still struggling with the passing of our beloved K9 cousin Sophie.....so much pain here. May she R.I.P. and once again be a healthy active girl now that she is in a better place.

Today we lovingly remember our sweet Cole on her 20th birthday. Cole crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 2/1/12...just 26 days shy of her 19th birthday.

I'm not gonna lie. Today has been very difficult. In a few days we'll have more rememberances. Things are tough all over.


Last week Ben and I went to the vet and had some surgery on our ears. This ear stuff is unrelenting and unexplained. I've still got stitches in my ear,but I'm feeling better. Ben is still struggling,as is his brother Pete who had his ears done a while back. Pete was doing so well and we were excited,but he has begun to struggle again in the last few days. Very disheartening. This is stuff that we'll be fighting for the rest of our lives as it's become such a chronic thing. *sigh* I don't get it...


I'm not feeling too chatty so I'll close for now.


R.I.P. Cole. We love and miss you so much sweet girl.

Today...we lovingly remember our boy Garth on what would have been his 21st birthday. Garth crossed the Rainbow Bridge in November of 1995.

We also lovingly remember our girl Baby on this day. Baby crossed the Rainbow Bridge on this day in 1995.

Although,they've both been gone from this world for 18 years,it still feels pretty raw. We remember them for the gentle loving beings that they were and for they joy they so unselfishly provided.

R.I.P. our beloved friends. We love and miss you and will always hold you deeply within our hearts.

To our friends here that always remember our furry family with gifts and words of encouragement. Your kindness and thoughtfulness never goes unnoticed or unappreciated. We love you.

P.S. Mom took my stitches out today. My ear will always look somewhat goofy,but it looks better than what it would have looked like if we hadn't changed vets. Thank you Dr. Kevin!!!

Today we lovingly remember our sweet Ashley Mae on the day that she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It seems like it was just yesterday that she was still with us. Time moves so quickly. :( We love 7 miss you A LOT Ash.

As of yesterday,3/16/13,our Morgan is officially 19.5 yrs old. Wow. A tiny little girl with the heart of a lion. She has her struggles with her lower back problems causing some incontinence and her rear legs giving way. She is so fiercely independent. She lets Mom help her get where she wants to be sometimes,but mostly she is very determined to do things on her own. She is very alert and aware of everything,she eats and drinks normally,and she doesn't appear to be painful....but,alas,we know that her time is coming and she will be leaving us. We are doing all we can to make sure that she is comfortable and has everything that she needs. There's nothing more that we can offer right now,but we will not allow her to suffer and she will go peacefully and with great dignity when it is time.

My ear is doing well and I feel so much better. Ben is really struggling with his ear again so I imagine he will need to go back to the Dr. again before that stuff really goes ballistic on him. It's just crazy how that stuff is so stubborn. Very frustrating.

Ok. I think that I'll go lounge in a window. Yesterday there were birds everywhere out there...and a couple of bunnies too. Makes for great entertainment seeing all of the little animals coming back around.

Oh Snap!!! Really?....

I'm a DDP again??!!!??? Yay me!!! Hang on...gotta do the Happy Dance...Ok,I'm back. I bet you thought that I'd let ya see me do the Dance. hahahahaha No way that'll ever happen. I've got 4 left feet and I confess to dancing like a doofus. *snicker*

Soooooooooooo....lemme see...what's the latest news around our furry kingdom? (it IS seriously furry around here. Not just 'cuz of the size of the fur herd,but the poor vacuum cleaner struggles to keep up) Like I care about that thing. HA! Well...ok so I do care somewhat. I mean,no one wants a messy floor,but on the other paw,that thing is noisy and annoying. I haven't sought legal advice,but I'm pretty sure that it's a real law that all animals are supposed to be annoyed by vacuum cleaners.

Ya know...I just looked at the calendar and according to that thing,it's "officially" been Spring for almost a week,but yet I look out the window and see it snowing. Some people are saying that Phil the groundhog should be fired. Oh puhhhleeeeezzz! Give the guy a break! He was mindin' his own business all snuggled in hibernating and whatnot,and some bozo comes along and yanks him outta his comfy bed and wakes him up. I dunno about you guys,but if somebody did that to me,I'd mess with 'em by tellin' 'em exactly what they wanna hear and then laugh at 'em 'cuz they fell for it!!!...but that's just smartypants me.

In other news: We did not win the Powerball lottery again. Bummer. Just think of all of the things that we could do for others if we were filthy rich. That'd be pretty cool.


Ok boys and girls...It's supper time here and I do't wanna be late for that. George will totally bogart all of the noms if you're a bit late............
