Arrival Story:
My friend, who can't tell cat breeds from one another, said her uncle's cat just gav birth and the kittens were being given away. I was led to believe at first that the cats were Persian, then Siamese. When I finally got a look at the cats, they were all street cats. I adopted one anyway and we all love her!

Baudelaire is very lucky. She's almost lost her life three times. Once, she was sleeping in near the engine of our van. When my dad started it, she got caught, but survived. The second time, she got trapped in some wire that wrecked her leg pretty bad, and lastly, she fell into our water tank without our knowing. We couldn't find her that night and thought she had gone out. The next day, she was discovered half-dead treading water in the tank. She had been there all night, and it was a miracle that she was still alive! When we took her to the vet (who was by now used to her freak accidents), we were told that since she got that far, she would be all right. What a lucky cat!

Baudelaire made a friend a few months ago. A stray tom, who my brother has christened Ivan (the Terrible) had been coming around to eat Baudelaire's food. My mom took pity on him and started feeding him too, so he and the Mooch have become friends. Or at least Baudelaire has become friends with Ivan and Ivan is confused as to why Baudelaire isn't scared of him.

Ivan's used to us now, so he'll do cute things like block the doorway (not cute when you have to rush out early in the morning) and rub against our legs, something that Baudelaire has never done. But like Baudelaire, he likes plopping down in the middle of the driveway and rolling around. So cute!

Ivan has since been joined by three other strays. We have yet to name them.
