Playing dress up

Ok, I admit it; my mommy likes to dress me up in funny outfits. I let her because she seems to enjoy it so much, but it can be humiliating. Of course, it does come with some perks. A few months ago, I was a finalist in this contest on stuffonmycat.com. It was for their birthday gig, and even though I didn't win, momma said I was famous and I got lots of email.

Well, for Halloween, momma dressed me up again and even though I was in "drag", I made it to the finals of the stuffonmycat.com finals again. I am getting my fat butt kicked by some chick in a lobster outfit who is sitting on the beach, but momma says it's awesome I made the finals and that makes me even more famous. She wouldn' t lie to me, would she?

I have gotten some really cool emails and the attention makes me able to tolerate the whole ordeal of getting dressed up again. sigh! I know I shouldn't go for the attention, but it's really nifty getting kitties who don't know me sending me fan mail. What can I say; I'm a real man. LOL

Will I ever win?

I was a finalist again in the Stuff on my cats contest. Mommy says I was super cute and I got several messages and more votes than ever, but one time I just want to win for my mommy. She says it's her fault, not mine. I'm not sure I believe her though.

This last time she said the site owner could not even chose the top 20 like usual because there were so many wonderful entries. He ended up picking the top 50 and having two contests. Mommy says I did great just getting in the finals and I have to believe her this time because I saw some of my Catster friends' entries and they were way cool. I can't believe some of them didn't make it. I feel lucky to have done so well, but I'm still not convinced it's all mommy's fault. She says I always have a wonderful look on my face and am well behaved (which is true) but I feel like I've let her down. She gets so excited when I have an entry.

Anyway, she was so happy with me that she is going to buy us (my sister, brother and me) a new fountain. That was the prize in the contest and although we have one already, she has been looking at a new one for us. The one she's going to buy isn't just like the one I would have won if I'd aced the contest, but I'm still happy. The one we have now seems to be hard for mommy to keep clean no matter how hard she tries, and she worries so much about it. I hope she doesn't worry as much with the new one she's buying for us. She said I deserved whatever fountain I wanted just for being such a good boy, and how could I argue with that?

I love my mommy and hope to someday win one of those silly contests for her. She would get some sash that says she's an awesome human, but in our house, we already know that. Duh.


Stay tuned for the tales of the new fountain and of all the new outfits mommy will put on me. Don't tell anycat, but I really like the attention I get when I dress up.

My biggest contest ever!

Ok, I still didn't win my latest contest, but I feel really good about it. SOMC had a contest where mommy had to send in a picture of me and a little story that was about me or the picture. There were a ton of kitties who entered and 30 0f us were chosen for the finals. Two kitties ran way ahead and were neck and neck. They were only five votes apart in the end. Wow. It was the closest race ever, so the second place kitty got some prizes too.

The reason I say it was my biggest contest was because the top kitties get to be featured in the next SOMC book. Isn't that really cool? I ended up coming in third place and it was a strong third. I was several hundred votes behind the two winners, but no other kitty was really close to catching me. The fourth and fifth place kitties are catster cats, so it was a great turnout.

Mommy is so proud of me and says she's getting everyone the book for the holidays. It's going to be really neat having my picture in a book. I entered the one of me in the blue hat because I really like that hat. All in all, it was very rewarding.

New pics and a new daddy

Mommy has had the camera out again and gotten some really fun pictures of me. She laughs about the ones she takes while my new daddy is sleeping and I'm letting him share my pillow. He didn't think it was too funny at first, but laughed after he realized how much it meant I loved him. I think he was just upset with mommy for taking pictures of him while he was sleeping because he had his mouth open in some of them and looked funny. MOL

A few days ago I was in a really good mood so mommy and I had another dress up session. More pics are coming soon from that photo shoot. I think there are some really good ones of me in my bucket hat, but that may be because I just like it.

Felix went to the specialist and it seems stress is playing a big role in his bladder infections. After a year, you'd think he and Mama Kitty would have worked out who was top cat by now, but I swear they still fight about it. I am just too laid back to care. Mommy loves me and I have everything a kitty could possibly want, so I don't ever get worked up over much. It seems to suit me too.

For now, Mama Kitty is on special assignment at Daddy's house. He has a mouse to get rid of before he sells his place and moves in for good with us. Mama Kitty isn't doing too good of a job catching the little varmit. Who knows though, maybe she isn't trying too hard. I think she may actually like having mommy and daddy to herself half of the week.


Please wish me luck in the We Love Dad 07 picture contest. I've never had a daddy before and am so happy my mommy picked him over the other potential daddies. He never was a cat person, but we've managed to convince him we're all that!!! He's wrapped around our paws too.

Mommy and daddy are getting married soon and I just wonder if they'd let me be bestcat. I think it's a swell idea, but I'm not sure if I can convince them. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Wow. Daddy and I got Fifth Place

I'm so happy. Daddy and I got fifth place in the We Love Dad 07 photo contest. It makes me all giddy since I've never had a daddy before and now we won something together.

Daddy was very excited too. He wasn't much on cats before he met mommy. I think he was skeptical about her having three cats too, but we showed him. I'm not sure which one of us was more excited about us winning, me or him. MOL

I wish mommy hadn't been sick on Father's day though. My daddy lost his daddy two years ago and was pretty sad. If mommy had been well enough to log onto Catster, the news of us getting fifth place would have helped cheer him up. It perked him up today when he found out though.

It's been a long time since I've written

Wow. I can't believe it's been so long since I've written. I guess not much has been going on. Mama Kitty and Felix are still fighting all the time. Actually, some of it's just play, but they get going sometimes. It upsets mommy a lot.

I actually have been a little jealous lately. Even though mommy isn't working, she's been paying lots of attention to Felix because he's sick. Plus, he used to be a little standoff-ish and now he thinks he's lap cat of the century. He's even taken MY place next to mommy in bed on occasion. That is totally unacceptable, but mommy doesn't seem to mind. She reminded me that it was Chloe's place and I tried to steal it from her way back in the day. I refuse to listen. It's not the same. Ok, maybe it is, but I've always been mommy's favorite and now Felix is around wanting attention all the time. Mommy says it's because he's feeling better. I feel guilty. I want him to feel better and not be sick, but I don't want him after so much of mommy's attention.

He even sleeps on her pillow sometimes. Can you believe that? At least Mama Kitty still likes to sleep at the end of the bed. Now, if dad to be isn't there, mommy usually works it out so Felix gets one side and I get the other, but that's not often enough for me.

*sigh* I guess I'm going to get used to sharing. Mommy at least noticed I was upset and has given me extra huge lovin' the past few days. She even shut the door and played with me so the other kitties couldn't intrude. I was in kitty heaven.

It's been a very busy time around here!

First of all, I meant to get an entry up when I got a really great surprise recently. I was named Cat of the Day in the All Fur Fun group!! We logged in and almost fell over. When I was thanking everyone, I know I bumbled it good, just like those silly primates who get on stage and have no idea what to say. MOL It's ok though. Some other kitties said they would have been the same way. For a present, mommy got me the SOMC "skid marks" shirt she's been wanting to buy me. She said this gave her an excuse. Yeah, whatever. She was itching to buy it and just hadn't gotten around to it. Our friend Diego told me to make sure I send my picture to Mario, but mommy already had that planned. Great cat minds think alike.

Jubilee's story is coming along, and I'm about to enter the picture. At least I think this part is where I come in. I get a role somewhere along the line, and I can't wait to see my character. She's up to chapter 15 now I think. She has some great short stories. Mommy wishes she had more time to write. *Loki* needs stories for his group, and he invited mommy right off the bat, but she just can't seem to come up with the right one. *sigh*

It can't get any better than this; Diary Pick

Once again I am meowless. Mom and Dad went to a wedding yesterday and then there was a big football game to watch, so mom hadn't gotten to log in all day. Dad told her to just wait until today, but she had to at least check our pawmail >^..^<

Thank Cat she did because we got another huge surprise. I was one of the Daily Diary Picks. We were so excited. Mommy had to poke dad and wake him up to tell him too. He wasn't as excited as mommy, but he doesn't get the Catster thing the way mom does. He tried writing in Miss Kitty's diary once, but only once. He's getting used to the idea, but he'll never play like mommy. Mom's family thinks she's nuts, but what do they know?

I'm sure many of you cats out there have the same issues as we do, so here is how our mom views it. Mom says that all kinds of people role play every day. Some do it on other message boards and websites, some do it on line through games, some do it at work and some actually dress up and go places and do it with other humans. We know people who play civil war or have other type costume parties, people who make up a persona and are part of a game on line that they play with other people who make up a character too, people who are part of online communities who act out via the internet, and people who play fake family games. Some of the games are really "geeky" and some are considered more "normal". Mom thinks it's all about the same. People just gravitate to the things that interest them. Heck, mom and dad have friends who are having a whole Renaissance wedding, complete with outfits and all. Mom doesn't "get" that anymore than that couple "gets" Catster, but we don't judge each other.

So, if your primates get called crazy for playing Catster, just tell them to swat the offenders. Remember to keep your claws retracted though. Then ask them if they ever played Barbie or GIJoe. That usually stops humans dead in their tracks every time. MOL

Go Catster!!!!

I am sooooo excited!

As some of you kitties know, my new picture is of me wearing my new Stuffonmycat t-shirt. Mom laughed so hard when she first saw the shirts advertised and FINALLY got me one. Many of you suggested I send it in to Mario, but mom was afraid it would get lost among the gazillions of photos he gets, so she wrote and aked him about it. Guess what???? He wrote her back and told her to send it attached to that email. We are keeping our paws crossed that it gets on the site soon. Or anytime for that matter. It's not my best picture, but mom's not been feeling well and hasn't had her camera out for a while. She'd hoped to get a better shot, but this one will have to do for now. I'd be so honored to be the first kitty on the site sporting the t-shirt.

So will all you cats purlease purr for my picture to get on that pawsome site? I've been in some of the contests but never otherwise.

Mom is also entering some of my pics (many posted here) that have never been entered in some upcoming contests. It's been so long since I've been in a contest I can't remember how it feels, but I do know I get nervous.

And Halloween is coming up fast, so mom's been working on getting some stuff ready. She can't ever make up her mind, so we have several outfits. MOL I guess I'll get to try them all on and whatever one makes the best picture is the one she'll go with.
