Arrival Story:
On 5/5/90, my dad and I went to a local shelter to look at cats. He found Spader playing with a couple of rabbits and thought he looked cool. His name was originally Smokey and he was just turned in by his owners as one of them was pregnant. Whatever! We brought him home that day. I went to Target and filled the cart up with everything cat and he has been my best bud ever since. We have been through a lot together.We just celebrated 16 years toghther!

Bio:
Spader died September 16, 2008 of sudden liver failure. He was almost 21 year old diet controlled diabetic in early CRF. I learned about diabetes and renal issues on the web and had just about turned him around with those two diseases. I like to educate the owners of newly diagnosed cats.
