MOTH STORY

Hey, the Bail here. I got a story to tell. This is one of those stories that got passed down from way back.

Sampy told me this story that was told to him by Bentley who originally was told the tale by Max. Here goes:

"At one time Isis and I lived in Orlando, FL with Mommy. One night a very large moth got into our apartment. Isis and I had a good old time chasing the thing from room to room. The next morning Mommy found on the living room rug, the moth's head with two big nasty looking dead eyes looking up at her! She was grossed out!

To this day, she never found out who ate it's body and wings. Isis and I never told her. Perhaps we shared it."

Max never told Bentley who ate it either and so it remains a mystery that will never be solved . . . .

Last night I passed this story onto Merl. He was kind of amused since he likes strange stories and of course, moths.

Well, that's about it for now. Of course, I'm tired and . . . . the catnip is wearing off . . .

BREEP TO ALL!

MOUSE STORY

Hi, it's the Bail again. Today, I got another story, but this one's not a mystery . . . it's a scary one if you're a mouse and you happen to read this. Don't say I didn't warn you. This tale was told to me by Sampy who was originally told it by Bentley.

Here goes: Max was the only mouse-killer in the household of four cats: Himself, Bentley, Jasmine Bibette and Isis. One night Mommy woke up to high-pitched squeeking noises and low throaty growls. She got out of her bed quite scared and saw in the hallway Max with a mouse dangling from his mouth and the other three cats standing around watching him play football and hockey with it. His growling meant: "this is mine, nobody gets this! I caught it so you all get lost." They all backed off and Max proceeded to bop the mouse a couple more times and then he ATE IT WHOLE! After that day, in the community of mice, the word got out, "there's a killing machine cat in the basement apartment of that house and stay away if know what's good for you." A few mice ventured down there and met the same demise. After, that word really got out and there were no more mice until Max passed away.

The End

Well, I guess that's the cat and mouse story for tonight. I hope you enjoyed it.

And of course, BREEP TO ALL

SATURDAY VIDEO SHOOT, AND I'M SORRY I DIDN'T WRITE AND SAY- THANK YOU TO CATSTER FOR DIARY PICK ON MAY 26, 2005

Hi, the Bail here. Sorry I didn't write anything yesterday nor get to thank you Catster for the Diary Pick on the 26th of this month. Ooops, I'm slipping here and so is Mommy.

Anyway, I let my brothers do their entries first and by the time it was my turn, Mommy's availability at the computer wasn't going to happen as it was her bedtime.

Well . . . as to the video shoot. It was of ''Yours Truly", Sampy and Merl playing with the streamers on a stick to the sound of, you guessed it, La Serredissima by Loreena McKennitt. As we danced and pranced to the cat teaser, Mommy sang as follows:

Sampson Silver Dollar, Sammy Sammy, Samp;
Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bail;
Merly, Merly, Merly, Merly, Merly, Merl;
Cammie, Cammie, Cammie, Cammie, Cammie, Cam;
These are my babies, how I love them so;
These are my babies, where I go, they go;
Sampson, Bailey, Merlin and Cammie, oh!;
Breep to all you Catsters and how we love you so.

Note: Cammie did not appear in the video, but of course, she is part of the family and very much loved too. She doesn't do videos with us guys. Mommy took one of her by herself though.

Lastly, today (Sunday) was HOT! This is the first hot day. It wasn't that hot in the house. This house keeps pretty cool when it's under 90 degrees. It gets hot in the 90's and then the AC comes on.

I must go now. Mommy wants to feed everybody and herself included.

BREEP TO ALL YOU CATSTERS AND HOW WE LOVE YOU SO!!

A HOT BAIL-A-FUR

That's what I feel like today, a bail of fur . . . one of my nicknames Bailafur. Yes, it was extraordinarily HOT today! In mid-afternoon I almost wished I were a Sphynx! Can you see that, a bald Maine Coon?

I gave myself the creeps by thinking of that. I love my hair too much. I'll just have to deal with it . . . I am starting to shed. As you know, my ruff is all gone. Maybe some of my britches will drop (now, don't get excited girls!).

Well, I don't want to hold up Mommy. It's getting late and I'm the last one doing my entry and Mommy's kind of tired.

Bye for now and of course BREEP TO ALL MY CATSTER FRIENDS!!

I'M STILL HERE AND I'M STILL THE COOL ONE

Hey, it's the Bail. Sorry about yesterday. Mommy was practically a zombie yesterday by the time 10:00 p.m. came along. She hit the sack and slept through the middle of the night-early morning antics Merl and I had.

We just partied cat style (eat, eat, eat, play, play, play). We didn't do the catnip thing while she was asleep because she keeps that stuff in the kitchen cabinet inside a plastic container.

Anyway, today was another HOT one and Mommy had the AC on while she was at work so we could be comfortable (76-78 degrees).

Not much going on here at this moment. Merl and I had a small wrestling session on the dining room floor, and Sampy and Merl had a small swing at each other session under the cat tree.

Sorry, I can't think of any cool subjects or music at this moment. I'll blame it on the hot weather.

Got to go now,

BREEP TO ALL MY CATSTER BUDDIES

THUNDERSTORM - LATE NIGHT ENTRY

June 1st 2006 8:17 pm

We had a thunderstorm tonight - so no entries until now. Mommy fell asleep on the couch from 8:00 p.m. to 10:20 pm. She thought she would take a little nap to wait out the storm (which turned out to be drizzle and a couple rumbles of thunder and no lightning at all). None of us like thunderstorms, especially Mommy. If she were cast into cat form, she would be hiding under the bed every time there was a "big" thunderstorm. You know, the ones with loud thunder and lightening worse than seen in the new "War of the Worlds" movie. Not that she thinks "aliens" are producing it, it's just that when she was little, she was subjected to "mountain" storms in the state of New Hampshire which scared the living daylights out of her.

Mild storms don't bother her and the safest place she feels in during a big storm is in a shopping mall where she will be totally unaware of it.

Okay, so much for the storm that never really was.

When Mommy took her nap on the couch, all three of us stayed in the living room with her. We are her shadows. If she's downstairs, we're right there with her.

Now, I must go. Merl and Sampy have something to say and will try to get theirs in tonight before the "upgrades". Also, tomorrow there may be no entries because Mommy has to download some anti-virus stuff after work, unless we do short entries early tomorrow morning.

BREEP TO ALL MY CATSTER FRIENDS!

I'M GLAD IT'S FRIDAY

June 2nd 2006 5:51 pm
[ Leave A Comment ]

Hey, the Bail here. I'm glad it's Friday as Mommy doesn't have to leave out here early to go to work. She's got a three day weekend. Wowie!!!

She will not, thank God be taking me to the cat show. A family party/gathering happened to be on the same day. Mommy's Dad is in town from Durango, CO and will also be at the party. She only sees her Dad once a year and there will be many more cat shows for me in the future.

Anyway, I got out of having to have a bath tonight Woooohooooo! That alone makes my day!

Just a little note from the Bail on music. The top groups in Mommy's and my opinion who can harmonize the best are:

1. The Beatles;
2. Lindisfarne (especially "January Song")
3. The Beach Boys;
4. Clannad
5. The Doobie Brothers (especially "Black Water")

The most beautiful Womens' voices:

1. Enya
2. Loreena McKennitt
3. Maire (Moya) Brennan (Enya's sister)
4. Judy Collins
5. Karen Matheson (lead singer in Capercaillie a Scottish folk/rock group)

ALL NOT NECESSARILY IN THE ORDER THEY ARE LISTED. We like them all and feel they all ought to be number 1.

Rock on this weekend CATSTERS!!

Warm regards and BREEP TO ALL MY CATSTER BUDDIES!!

THANK YOU CATSTER!!!

Thank you Catster for making me Diary Pick of the Day! This is my fourth time and I am ecstatic! I'm thrilled beyond belief! Mommy is soooo proud of me too and she thanks you too.

YES, YES, YES. I'm a famous kitty for a day . . . I'll bring in some more viewers! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!!

Both Merl and Sampy gave me congratulatory slurps and headbutts. "Way to go, Bail!" they told me.

Around 6:00 a.m. before Mommy got the email, I woke her up by poking her with one of my paws on her legs. She woke up and said, "Hey, Bail. Good morning to you, sweetie!" She knew it was me without even looking. This is my special way of getting her up. Sampy is the one who licks her and Merl is the purring machine in her face.

So we got the poker, the licker and the purrer on the Kitty Wake Up Committee. I say a nice crew with their own special ways of getting Mommy up so she can feed us and change our litterboxes!

Well, I got to go now and BREEP TO ALL MY CATSTER FRIENDS AND CATSTERS AND CATSTER JUDGES WHO PICKED ME AGAIN. I'll be high all weekend on this one!!

Again BREEP TO ALL!

MOMMY'S FUN DAY . . .PARTY, PARTY . . SHRIMP AND SALMON, OH- MY!!

June 4th 2006 7:27 pm
[ Leave A Comment ]

Mommy went to her family party today instead of taking me to the cat show. The party took place in Ellicott City, MD and was for her step-brother's son and daughter (step niece and nephew). The son graduated from high school and the daughter had her church confirmation. Everything went well. The food, I was told,was out of this world. Mommy told me that the seafood (drool, drool) was salmon and shrimp and crab. The shrimp were huge! The salmon was smoked and EXCELLENT The only thing I'm not happy about is Mommy didn't bring us back any. The stuff was so good that everybody ate it all up!

Yes, Mommy came home and fed us BORING cat food! Gee wiz, Mommy you could have at least pocketed some of that salmon and shrimp for us!

It would have been better had she told us she ate dog food at the party. I would have liked that better and so would have Sampy and Bail.

Well, it's time to sign off. I got two brothers telling me to hurry up.

BREEP TO ALL YOU CATSTERS AND MY CATSTER FRIENDS!!

SOME WORDS OF WISDOM

June 5th 2006 6:16 pm
[ Leave A Comment ]

"PETS are companions and healers of human beings and they give us a better life on earth. They are the spiritual connection between people and nature".

Mommy bought two wooden picture frames at a dollar store with these words of wisdom on them. In each one , she put a photo of Merl and I (one of them is also currently on Merl's website here). She has to get another one for Sampy and Cammie. Of course, they won't be together like us.

Just think, words of wisdom on picture frames bought at a dollar store! Mommy loves these frames . . . so do Merl and I.

Today, of course, Mommy was home all day. She didn't go anywhere, but she did do some housecleaning as Merl mentioned. That vacuum cleaner has got to go. It's just too noisey. It hurts our sensitive ears.

Nothing else going on right now, I think I'll take a nap so I can carouse around 2:00 a.m.

BREEP TO ALL YOU CATSTERS AND MY CATSTER FRIENDS!!
