New Brother Part I

Mommy brought home a new brother for me and I got to see him from a distance. We both exchanged hisses that's about it. Mommy then closed the door, saying that's your introduction for now. We have to wait. I asked Sampson about it and he told me Merlin has to go to the vet first before he gets too close to us. I'd like to meet him soon. Both he and I were poking our paws through the crack at the bottom of the bedroom door. I stuck my whole leg through there and mommy had to help me get it out. She thought I got it stuck. Not so. After a while Merlin shot through his little black foot. I just sat and watched. I guess we'll be friends soon enough. I do want to play a lot and Sampy is an older guy and tires easily. I am only 11 months old. I'll be a year old on April 2. Well, that's all for now. Later.

Sampy and I Meet Merlin

Today was the day the Merlin got the bill of health from the vet. Mommy opened the door and let us come in to see Merlin. We all exchanged trills and breeps (Maine Coon talk). The little guy loves me! He swung at my tail many times and he left the room and I followed him down the hall. He was checking everything out. He had never seen so much stuff and he didn't venture downstairs yet. (He was afraid to and Mommy and I felt he shouldn't go down there either . . . not yet as the steps are toooo steep). I really enjoy playing with him and I can't wait until he gets older so mommy won't have to supervise our every move. I think she does this because he's so little and doesn't trust me or Sampy alone with him yet. Sampy was very gentle with Merlin just as he was with me when I was little. Sampy is a good father image. I love Sampy every much and I am learning to love Merlin. I know we can be good friends soon. Well, I must go now I'm tired. My evening naps are usually around 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

GIVE ME A CAT WITH HAIR, LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR!!!

Okay, here Mommy goes again. She's using this old song I never heard of . . . and neither has Sampy, to be my song and my motto. Something about Hair. Shows how old she is!! Yes, I know, I have the longest coat in the household and am very proud of my crowning glory! I strut it around all day on my 12 lb BEAUTIFUL BOD! Little Merl loves playing with my tummy hair and especially my plumy tail.

Mommy did another photo shoot of me and Merl very early this morning. She got an action shot of him attacking my feather duster tail. Oh my.
I have a feeling these new photos are on their way to this website.

Another adventure happened this morning. Mommy turned on this big object hanging from the dining room ceiling. It went 'round and 'round and almost had me hypnotized. What in the world is that thing? Uncle George put it in during the winter because the old one didn't work right, but it was never used until today. I know I can't chase that thing!

Also, last night Mommy was cleaning our litter boxes and spilled some all over the floor. She got out that terrible howling and hooting monster that sucks up stuff off the floor. All I know is that it is very loud and scary and when Sampy and Merlin (this was his first confrontation with the beast) heard it, we took off to safer regions (under the bed or downstairs). She calls the thing Mr. Vac. Oh great.

Well, I must go now . . . I already ate and used my litter box and played and now it's my catnap time. Meow, brrrrrrruuuuuup, breeeeeep later.

I'm A Birthday Boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BAILEY GRAY CLOUD, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Okay, I'm rubbing it in. I thank Catster for the birthday email. It just made my day. Mommy tells me we'll have some lemon butter salmon tonight in my honor. I can't wait. When she gives me a little of this, I almost grab her fingers too.

I can't believe I'm one year old and this hairy and big. When I'm four or five, I'm going to be a massive guy like my Daddy. I know I'm a Maine Coon.

Nothing much else going on at this moment. Merlin and I are getting along great. We have such fun. I love this little guy and thank Mommy for getting him. He sure helps drive away the boredom I was having when Sampy didn't want to play all the time. I LIVE TO PLAY. PLAYING IS MY THING!!

Well, I must go. Merlin wants to play again. I hear him running in the hallway. Breeeeep, Brrrrrrrrr for now.

MERLIN'S A TRIP.

This morning Merlin was jumping on my face and clinging there. Mommy said he looked like a black version of that "Alien" creature, you know the "face-hugger". I didn't like him clinging there so I licked his tummy really hard and that disloged him. He came back for more and I disloged him again. Soon the game was over. I still love the little guy. He's a trip!

On Sunday Mommy took pictures of us sitting in the kitty window seat in her bedroom. We enjoyed looking at the beautiful red bud tree and mostly, the birds sitting on its branchs. These birds were chirping and we had a good time watching them and smelling and feeling the nice warm air. She even took a video of us birdwatching. Above on this site is me (the big guy) and Merlin. Check out how much difference there is in our sizes! He's got a long way to grow. I'm still wondering if he's going to grow much hair. He's getting a little fluffier, but nothing like I was at his age. He's allegedly 1/2 Maine Coon. We'll see. Bye for now I'm going to take my little nap. Breeeep to all!

I'M STILL HERE, I JUST HAD WRITER'S BLOCK THE PAST FEW DAYS.

Hi to all. This is Bailey Gray Cloud the "cool one". Sorry I haven't written in several days. I've had writer's block. I think and think and think and nothing comes. I'm not as prolific as Sampy is either.

It's Saturday and Mommy is not at work today. Hurrah! I get to see her more often (the whole morning) and then she goes out to visit her boyfriend and she comes back during the afternoon to checkup on us. That's nice of her.

Right now Merlin and I are having a good old time running around in one of the bedrooms. I then stopped and came in to see Mommy. I jumped up on her lap and gave her my "breeeeps and purrrrrs." She just loves that. Then I gave her my famous, what she calls, the "nudge-rub". I bop her arm with my wet nose and rub it in really hard on that arm. I am purring all along when I do this.

I jumped off Mommy's lap and Merlin jumped up. He put his foot on the keyboard and actually typed: This is what he wrote "bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb" See, cats can't type. They got to stick to dictating as Mommy says.

By for now, "Breeeeeeeeep to all!" as Sampy says.

BEE WATCHING

When Mommy came home she opened her bedroom window for Merlin and I. We jumped up into the kitty window seat and watched the bumble bees flying from flower to flower. What fun . . . Mommy cautioned us not to mess with them ever and it was good there's window screen and a few feet between us and them. We enjoyed watching them though.

Not much going on right now, we're all laying in the hallway while Mommy plays some Enya music. I like her music . . . I feel like I'm a meditating kitty!

THE BIG BAD BAIL

I'm the big bad Bail with the fluffy tail.

So much for poetry from the "Cool One" aka Bailey Gray Cloud. The show cat himself. I got another show coming up in May in Gaithersburg, MD.

I'm not really into shows, but I will go and deal with it because it makes Mommy happy. I win all these pretty ribbons that she can hang in her room and brag to her friends about.

The part I hate is the "before" show preparations where Mommy has to give me a bath. Lord, do I hate water when I am placed in it! I like water to drink and dunk my front paws in, but that's the limit! All of this soaking up my body and my plumy tail with soap and water is not my idea of fun!

That part I'm not looking forward to at all.

Anyway, I have been laying in the cat window seat in Mommy's room much of this evening. I will spend practically the whole night here. I love it! I get the first dibs on watching the birds when they wake up 4:45 a.m.

A LAZY DAY FOR THE BAIL

Just a lazy day for me, the Bail! I slept a lot either in my window seat or under the living room chair. At dinner time Mommy gave us all some chicken. That was nice. And by the way, Sampy is wrong saying I think I'm a bunny. I just was joking because I have a lot of fur like a bunny (Angora) and I do hop down the stairs . . . that's how I go down the stairs when I run fast . . . it's fun. Sampy ought to try it. Even little Merlin does it.

HAPPY EASTER EVEN THOUGH I SAY IT A LITTLE LATER. WE STILL HAVE THREE MORE HOURS OF EASTER WHERE WE LIVE.
