Arrival Story:
Pywich and her Mommy moved in with me in 1983. Samantha already ruled the house, but she didn't mind another kitty in the house - and when Pywich's Mommy eventually moved back home, Py stayed behind. Mom knew that Py would be happier in her current home than in a house with several big, huge dogs! So she stayed with her new Mommy & step-sister Samantha.
Bio:
Pywich was commonly referred to as "the Bitch" because she was mean. Anytime you tried to touch her - she'd hiss, bite or scratch - or all 3!. She jumped up in my lap one day & was very happy - just purring away - until I needed to get up. I looked at her Mommy and said "How do I move her?" Needless to say - just getting up resulted in scratches on my legs!
Poor Pywich grew up with big dogs - but occasionally went to live in other places where she had the house to herself. As a kitten her Mommy told me that her tail was slammed in a sliding glass door - hence why you didn't touch her tail!
Going to the vet was a noisy endeavor - Py would serenade me all the way in the car - then roared the entire time she was on the examination table. She hated having her claws clipped, getting a shot, having her ears cleaned.. maybe she just hated the vet! One time she hissed & scratched at the assistant, then jumped off the table and went behind the refrigerator! They had to pull her out with the tech wearing falconing gloves!
Pywich & Samantha became friends - but when Bandit the puppy moved in - Pywich showed her displeasure by turning the sunporch into her domain - doing everything - and I mean EVERYTHING in there - she destroyed a bed. Ah well. Needless to say - Bandit went to live elsewhere & Pywich was a much happier kitty.
She lived a long life - 17 years before she died of cancer.
