On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 27th, 2005, my husband rescued Reebok and Nike from where he works. They had a little sister and were living in a storage area where some guys were feeding them. Their sister was taken home and named Seagate. The guys told my husband about the two boys so he went to look at them. He called me on the phone to talk about fostering them and then turning them over to Safe Haven rescue to help them find their permanent homes. They were picked up by hand, put in a box, and brought to our house! We made a vet appointment for that afternoon and the results were all good. I gave the boys a nice little bath TOGETHER in the bathroom sink, treated them with Revolution, and saw just how handsome they were. Then we set up the guest bedroom for them to get comfortable in their new surroundings.
Bio:
Needless to say, these guys never left! When Reebok and Nike were babies, they often used the litter box together and it was so cute! Although you'll find Reebok napping with the other cats, there is something special about seeing him cuddled up with Nike because it reminds me so much of when they were babies and I know that they have a special bond. When Reebok was a baby, his way of meowing at us sounded like "eh-ehhhhh" and this is still the way he talks to us today. He's a real sweetheart and loves to sit by me or on me when I'm watching TV or on the computer but he is so big now! He's always been a big eater but a mild-mannered and sweet boy.

Thank you Catster and friends for remembering that Nike and I celebrate our gotcha days today because Mom forgot! She has been forgetting these special dates lately and for some reason didn't have it on the calendar either.
Nike and I were just talking about our first bath together in the bathroom sink and how much fun we had being in our own room the first couple of weeks. We always got excited when Mom or Dad would open the door to see us and would meow and run to greet them.
We sure grew up to be the biggest kitty boys in the house!

Nike and I turned 7 today!
Last night at exactly 11:59pm, I jumped up on the bed to knead on Mom, so that's where I was when I turned 7! I nearly sat on Pebbles who was already there, so she gave me a few smacks to wish me a Happy Birthday!
Mom is a little sad that we're already 7 (MOL), but happy that we're part of the family.
Thank you to my wonderful friends for the gifts and messages you sent me today! Some of your messages sure made me "jiggle in the middle!"

We got a wireless security camera for the front porch recently and it came with an extra one for inside the house. Dad set the second one up so it faces the stair landing where Huey likes to hang out, and it's the way upstairs for all of us.
Last night while they were enjoying Christmas dinner with Mom's family, they were able to see Huey on the landing waiting for them to come home and also caught Joy and I sitting on the stairs! They got a kick out of watching us and sharing it with the family.
Good thing I wasn't cleaning myself at the time....
