A day in the life of the American Chopper

My new home...

April 29th 2005 11:30 pm   [link to this entry]

My new mom and dad came and got me a few weeks ago and brought me to their house. When we went inside there were so many smells! I didn't know what to think!!!! But, mom took me in to a room and let me out of my carrier. I walked right out, started purring, and gave her a big kiss. I thought to my self...this place isn't going to be so bad!

I could tell that there were other "things" in the house, I just didn't know what. There were lots of new smells in my room but as far as I could tell, I was the only one there. Then a few days later, my mom and dad put up a gate between my room and the hall...and there they were.........

"They"...Dumb & Dumber (the dogs...this is Tailer's name for them) and one who I like to call Fat Albert (aka Tailer). I wasn't too sure how I felt about them. Fat Albert started pacing the fence, chirping at me and then started putting his paws through the holes in the fence. I just walked over to mom purring and got in her lap...that didn't seem to make him too happy.

Over the next few days, I got to know the others in the house. Brodie doesn't scare me much...although he did come up behind me and scare the Bejesus out of me. But, he has and will only get away with that once. I'm a quick learner. Now, Stella makes me a bit nervous. She gets REALLY excited when she sees me. I'm afraid she thinks I'm a toy. I try and stay away from her.

That brings me to Tailer. I call him Fat Albert because...well....he's fat. He can be cool, but he likes to play this game called Smackdown. I'm not too fond of this game as it usually involves flattening me like a pancake! I'm small and wiley tho' so I usually manage to get a bite or two off and wiggle my way out from underneath him. Then I get to the safe zone on top of the scratching post. Oh man...if only I was bigger. My mom keeps telling me to hang in there...one day I'll be bigger than him. Like 5 lbs bigger! I'll believe that when I see it!!! Then there will be a day of reckoning!

I like my new mom and dad. They love to hug me and kiss me all the time. I give them purrs and kisses back. My mom keeps telling me I'm special. She says I'm going to be a show kitty. I think I can handle being the "special" one in the household. Only thing is I think it involves baths. Yuck!!! I got one last week...First she got me sopping wet, then she used this thing that blows air to dry me. Yeah, not a big fan of the whooshing air....

All in all though, I think I'm going to like it here in my new home...I'll keep you updated!!!

REVENGE IS MINE!!!!!

HA HA HA HA....The day has come.....I am finally bigger than Fat Albert!!! Mom always said this day would come, but I didn't believe her...now it is here. Now don't mistake "bigger" with "fatter", because let's face it...that Tailer is F-A-T...BUT, I am bigger than him, and he can't flatten me anymore.

We have this really cool scratching post, and I am it's king. That Tailer trys to get to the top but I just wallop him on the head...BAM...just like that, and he gets down on one of the lower levels where he belongs. Sometimes I let him sleep on the top next to me, but that's only when I'm feeling a little chilly and need some extra warmth. Don't worry, I'm not getting soft or anything.

I like to lay on the top of the tree because that's where mom gives me lots of love...we can see eye to eye. When mom comes home from work, she picks me up under the armpits so I can get a really nice stretch, and sets me on my throne. Then she pets me. I think Tailer is pretty jealous, but whenever mom goes to give him love, he wiggles out of her arms and meows a lot. That's fine with me because I get all the pets he doesn't want!!!

When we aren't on the tree, Tailer and I are buddies. I love to chase him around the house and tough and tumble with him, now that I am big enough. We even have our own little fort behind the piano. Tailer found a piece of cardboard back there, so he built a fort. But, the fort is slowly going away because ol' fatty will eat anything, including cardboard. So, he is slowly digesting our fort. :(

Dumb and Dumber are another story. When mom gets home from work, they run around the house acting like idiots...sheesh, do they have NO pride? And that Brodie...he thinks he is the police officer in the household. Whenever I am trying to be sneaky and jump up on the counter to see if mom and dad left any food out, he comes running over, tags jingling, and gives away my position! The nerve! Who does he think he is??? And sometimes I have to endure his police brutality...like the other day. There I was minding my own business, sitting next to some clean towels and WHAM, he tries to bite me (no worries, he didn't connect, he just slobbered on me...yuck). HEY!!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR??? I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG!!!! OH BOY...did he ever get in trouble! Mom was yelling at him...something about "you are not the enforcer of the rules in this house!!!". But, it doesn't seem to sink in to that thick skull of his. He must have been dropped on his head as a puppy a few too many times.

Oh well, despite it all...I love my home, my mom and dad, and even Tailer...

Chopper's Wish List

Hi Santa Claws!

I’ve been a REALLY good kitty this year! I always ask mom politely to be fed (unless I think she doesn’t hear me…then I kick it up a notch), I TRY to stay off the counters (it is really hard to do this because there is so much cool stuff up there!), and I’m ALWAYS nice to Tailer (except when we play SMACKDOWN), Brodie (except when he thinks he is the police officer of the house), and Stella (except when she is wagging her tail…what a fun toy!). So since I’ve been so good, Santa, here’s a small list of what I would like to have for Christmas this year…

- To be KING of the house!!!

But, I’ll settle for…
- Catnip Puffs
- Fancy Feast
- Da’ Bird
- Treats – I LOVE THEM!
- Anything with Catnip
- Toys that crinkle when I play with them
- Daily rides on mom’s shoulder
- Tailer’s spot on the scratching post
- Brodie to leave me alone…he’s not the enforcer of the rules in the house!
- Stella to wag her tail more so I can chase it!
- WORLD PEACE! :)

It's my Birthday...I'm gonna Party like it's my Birthday

Hooray!!! I'm one year old today! I don't feel that much bigger or older, but mom seems pretty happy for me. She keeps saying "Chopper, it's your birthday today". I wonder if I'll get extra food...all to myself that Tailer doesn't get to taste. :) Wonder if it will be that salmon that was out when mom and dad had all those people last week and they fed it to me. That was SO good!!! I even got up on the table to get some more, until mom yelled at me.

AND...Tomorrow is Christmas! Oooh...I am so excited! Tailer and I have tried to get a peek in the presents under the tree, but mom keeps telling us to leave them alone. I wonder if they are ALL FOR ME!!!!???

Well, I'm gonna go celebrate!

Happy Birthday to me and Meowy Christmas!!!!

They call me the Pink Panther

February 21st 2006 7:09 pm   [link to this entry]

So the other day I was hanging out on the kitchen counters (mom & dad weren't home of course) and I found a cup with this interesting pink liquid in it. Now, I have this umm...err...fascination with knocking things off counters. PLUS, Tailer was down below yelling "WHAT DO YOU SEE UP THERE???" So, I knocked the cup off so we could both take a closer look at this pink liquid. It splashed all over the place and I jumped off the counter to see if Tailer and I could figure out what it was.

I'm no dummy and I didn't just take a lick to see what it tasted like (that's what Tailer did, by the way...he is a dummy...hahaha). Instead, I put my paws in it to check it out. I tapped it a few times and decided it was safe to take a drink. I took a quick lick and decided it was kinda like water but kinda fruity. I wasn't too impressed. So I walked off.

I realized that mom and dad were going to be VERY unhappy when they got home and I noticed that the hair between my toes was pink. OH NO!!! I was going to be caught!!! I licked and licked, but the pink just wasn't coming off! I mean WHAT WAS THAT STUFF???

Anyways, mom and dad came home and found the glass on the floor with the pink liquid on the floor. Boy were they unhappy!!! They hollered "WHO WAS BAD???" I tried to hide my pink paws but my mom was on to me. She came over and picked me up and said "hey there Pink Paws!" I was SO surprised because instead of being mad she was LAUGHING!!!!!! After that they kept calling me 'Pink Paws' and laughing! I think it took about 2 weeks for the color to fade away...next time when I knock stuff off the counters I'll be more careful not to step in it!!!!

That's it for now!

Hooray!! I'm a pick of the day!!!

March 3rd 2006 6:57 pm   [link to this entry]

Woo hoo!!! I'm one of Catster's Diary Picks of the day!!! I feel so honored! In fact I was so excited that right after mom told me I hacked up a furball! I just couldn't help myself!!! Mom came running and Brodie was staring at me...willing it to be food, but when I finally spit it out...it was all hair! Mom quickly cleaned it up and then gave me some beef flavored stuff that kinda looks like vasoline and said "that should help it go out the other way!"

Now I can bask in the joy that is being one of Catster's elite few (if even for a day!). Fat Albert is TOTALLY jealous because he thinks his diary is WAY better than mine, but not according to Catster! HA take that Fatty!!! I'm cooler than you today, so just deal!!

Thanks Catster for giving me something I can lord over ol' fatty for a while!!
