Adopted!

I just got adopted by my new family! I used to live out in the streets, but now I live in a house with a family. My mom is currently teaching me how to be a house kitty. So now I have to learn to go to the bathroom in a litterbox. I also have to learn to scratch on cat trees and scratching posts. Although yesterday I was using the carpet. Shhh... I also have to learn that fingers and feet are NOT toys to be bitten and scratched!! I love playing with fingers and feet and biting them, so that will be a difficult one. I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but my mom said we'll just work on things day by day.

I'll be charting my transformation from street kitty to house kitty here in my diary! This is going to be fun!!

Kitten Shots!

Today I went to see the vet to get a couple of kitten shots. I liked the vet quite a bit! I didn't hide in my kennel; I was brave. I didn't want the vet to carry me, but I did like playing with him. He said I had a BIG personality! MOL!

I Clawed My Granny!

Yesterday my granny came for a visit. I was in a playful mood so I latched onto her foot to play!! My mom quickly detached me from granny's foot. I was only playing, but my mommy still felt badly. I've been doing really well not clawing or biting my mom, very well actually. So my mom is thinking now she has to work with me to not bite OTHER people not just my mom. We"ll see how the next few days go.

On another note, I hate collars. My mom had to buy three to find one I couldn't remove. The shelter said mom has to keep a collar with ID on it on me at all times.I know it's for safety reasons, but I hate it.

Diary Pick!!

It's difficult learning to be a house kitten. At this point I'm having a two steps forward two steps back experience. MOL. This morning, I tried climbing my human brother's leg, when he was getting dressed for school. However, last night, I sat in my mom's lap and purred and purred while she pet me. I didn't try to play bite or scratch once! So I'm catching on to things at my own pace!

Also, I found out today that ear cleanings aren't any better than collars. Let's see how the rest of today goes.

Da Bird Toy-Pinatas for Cats and My House Kitty Training- Update

I love my new Da Bird Toy!! It is a lot of fun for me and my mom! It is definitely the cat version of a pinata. Soon I'll need a replacement, because I've almost torn off all of the feathers. It was recommended to me by Angel QT's little sister, Tu Two; she's very smart! It is my favorite toy, and I have a big toy collection!

My House Kitty Training is moving along a bit slowly, but I'm making progress. This week, I've clamped onto my mom's thigh, bit her wrist a couple of times, and clawed her foot! I know it sounds bad, but I've actually improved quite a bit this week! MOL. I am much more gentle now when I grab her foot or hand, and I don't play like this very frequently at all.Mom thinks I know now that she doesn't like me playing like that. I'm also not getting so hyper when I want affection from my mom. That is what happened when I bit her wrist. I'm learning to be affectionate in gentle ways! Today, I didn't bite or scratch when I wanted my mom to cuddle me! A couple of days last week, I didn't play bite or scratch either. My mom was so proud of me! I'm very loving! I'm a lap kitten, and I will cuddle with my mom when she takes a nap.

I now have free run of the whole house, because I am so good about using my litter box! My mom is happy about that.

As for the dogs, I don't like my dog sisters too much. My favorite so far is Tinker Bell Forever, who used to be my Angel Brother Apollo's least favorite. I guess all cats have their preferences. :)Maybe I will change my mind.

Spay Day

I'm getting spayed today. My mom dropped me off this morning at 7:00. Unfortunately my mom got a nosebleed right before we left, so we weren't the first in line. I was about animal number five. My mom is supposed to call at 3 pm to find out how I'm doing. I believe the vet office does the males first, then the females. So I have to wait a while. Luckily my mommy put me in a big kennel with a blanket, litterbox, and two toys. I had two girls come play with me, while I was waiting to be admitted. They had two, nine month old kittens, who were getting spayed/neutered as well. One was a boy, one was a girl. Guess what? I was the same size as they were! I'm half their age! I just turned five months! I'm going to be a big girl! I hope the day goes by quickly. I haven't been away from my mom since I was adopted. Well, I'll write back soon!

I'm Home!

Today at 1:30 my mom called the vet! They said I was finished with my surgery, and I was able to go home at 3:00! When I got home I was I groggy!! My mom put my E-collar on, and I freaked out! It's a green tinted, see-thru one!! I had a fit! Luckily, Shyla (my dog sister) had an older clear E-collar in storage. I tried that one, and I liked it better, but I still don't like it. I'm not sure why I hated the green one so much? Today was a very rough day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Today is My Birthday!

I'm one today! It's my birthday! I grew up really quickly. My mom can't believe it. I am a very happy girl. I love to be with my mom. My mom loves to be with me too.

I love playing with toys. I have an entire collection. It doesn't take long for me to get bored of a toy; that's how I amassed such a large collection. What I really want to play with are my Chihuahua sisters, but I play too roughly with them. So I keep my mom busy all day with her having to supervise me with them. I can't be left alone with them, but if my mom is there everything is fine.

I am very good with people. I will even go up to strangers. I'm not afraid. I sometimes still try to play with people,, but if mom tells me to stop, I do. I love sitting on my mom's lap. I love for mom to pet my face and head. Being carried, isn't my favorite, but I like it more than my angel brother,Apollo Cream. I still am a chatty cat, too. I purr a lot when I'm playing with my toys.

Size wise, I didnt grow to be really big, just average sized. My fur color is about the same as when I was first adopted, perhaps maybe a little more orange colored. My eyes remained icy blue.

I am not destructive or grouchy. However I am still very active and curious. I follow my human brother around his bedroom. If he goes to his desk, I do,too. When he looks in his backpack, I look too. When brother does his homework on the bed, I jump on the bed and inspect all his school work and supplies. I have a lot of fun at my house!

Christmas....I Love It!!

This was my first Christmas in a home! I had fun! As you can guess, I went a bit crazy! So crazy that I made my mommy move all the Christmas presents and tree and decorations!

When mom first decorated the tree, I thought the tree was my present. I loved it like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately, I loved it so much that I was chewing every inch of it-the branches, the bulbs, the cords! Oh, I couldn't get enough of that tree! I was so obsessed with it! Mom had no choice; she moved it to a separate room! Humph! Xmas trees are the best cat trees!

Then, I turned my attention to the presents!! They were almost as fun as the tree! I liked tearing and unwrapping them with my claws. My mom knows me very well. Luckily, she was smart enough to only leave out a couple of "trial" presents, and then she supervised me. The first day, I didn't touch them. By day two, those little presents were mine!! Did you know cats unwrap presents faster than people? My mom never knew that, but she knows now!

My last Christmas adventure was with the Christmas angel. Have you ever wrestled an angel? They are no match for me. I grabbed that little angel by her wings, gave her the kitty thumpity-thump-thump with my hind legs, and started chewing her hair!! I had a blast, until mom took her away from me.

I never knew Christmas was so fun! I had a great time! I can't wait until next year!
