Being a love bug!
He was in a litter of foster kitties. He was about 10 days old when he arrived. He was "too cute" to let go!
Benson has hyperesthesia syndrome and was a very trying youngster. He used to have crystals in his urine, but that was resolved with a wet diet. He is on a low dose of fluoxetine to help control his urinary mishaps and his rippling skin. He is a polydactyl with 23 toes. He has a happy drool. He's as sweet as they come!***On 10/21/13 along with a dental, he had a toe removed. I had been treating it for years as it would get infected, and now the infection went systemic. The bone was floating loose and not attached to anything. He is recovering well. For the time being, he no longer needs fluoxetine.

Hello furiends! I'm celebrating big time today! I've been out playing in the yard and enjoying the sunshine.
It's been a tough week for some of my furblings. Dottie has been straining in the litter box and is on pain meds and special food. Yesterday Dixon bit Pouncey's toe and she was rushed to the vet. They shaved her foot and put her on antibiotics and pain meds. Dixon is going to take some meds to help him "chill out" so hopefully no more worries.
My health has been good. Although my toes are still getting infected even though I had the tiny one removed. I mostly stay in my own room because I still like to "mark" my house. Kingsley and Paisley like to visit me and we play and take naps together. Mom can't believe how much I like running around and acting like a kitten.
We wish you all a furtastic Summer!

What a scary week it has been. Tomorrow I will have been at the vet for 3 whole days. They are keeping me in a staff office and watching me real close. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, and a urinalysis that showed a lot of blood. They gave me pain meds and fluids today and will check my urine again tomorrow. My mom misses me furry much:(
From my mom: Benson was having a bad spring was spraying a lot. I've had to keep him locked in one room, or let him stay in the outside enclosure and fenced yard. We catified his room last weekend by building shelving around the entire room, with steps to go up and down. I was finding puddles on the floor of his room, which was a new development. I'm so glad I took him in. I had weaned him off his anti-anxiety meds and was going to see how he would do just being himself. He was extra sweet and very playful. Even though he had one of his extra toes removed that was always infected, he still gets bi-lateral nail bed infections that have to be treated almost continuously. I'm hoping we can get my special boy back on track.

Happy Birthday to me! Mom promised me I would always be youngest of the furmily, like she is. Well I almost made it 11 years, because now we have Kingsley and Paisley. I guess that's okay, because I sleep so much, and Paisley likes to play outside with me. She's a good tree climber - I have all my claws too, but I never liked being up so high.
Mom just got back from volunteering and we're gonna hang out today. Maybe have some extra nip and nap in a sun puddle. My mouth is all healed up and I'm eating good again.
The two foster Whitesters, Dixon and Dottie had dentals this week and they're still chillin' in their room. They are very quiet and we hardly know they are here, except mom goes in there with yummy food and comes out with empty bowls.
Wishing all my furiends a pawsome day!
Love & Hugs,
