Arrival Story:
I had lost a young calico to lymphoma. My co-worker lived in a rural area and had too many cats and talked me into taking this sweet girl.

Daisy is very special. We have 2 African Greys that say her name and meow like her. She's my only cat that doesn't tolerate or like being carried around. She has a "mind of her own" and we love her for that! *** She's developed allergies in her senior years and is doing better eating freeze-dried and frozen raw food. *** On June 24, 2013 Daisy was diagnosed with a 9 cm oblong mass in her abdomen. It was removed and found to be adenocarcinoma of the exocrine pancreas. Her prognosis is guarded and we are enjoying her remaining days with us. *** To keep her eating, I had to feed Daisy whatever she wanted, and her food allergies caused her to lick and scratch excessively. She was taking Zyrtec, but it wasn't helping enough. On August 14, 2013 her vet prescribed prednisolone and Mirtazapine; and we also put a calming collar on her. She is feeling better and eating well.***After five months, the tumor was growing back and pushing against her lungs. Her quality of life declined suddenly. On December 1, 2013, we helped her make her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Daisy is forever loved and remembered.

Four Feet in Heaven

Your favorite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
Ecstatically to meet me.

No coaxing rubs nor plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding.
I've put away your bowl, and all the things
You won't be needing.

But I will miss you, little friend
For I could never measure
The happiness you brought me,
The comfort and the pleasure.

And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow,
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In Heaven's bright tomorrow!

A poem in remembrance of me, a very special angel.

I'm a Beautiful Angel

The day we knew was coming has arrived. I'm thankful I was able to spend the last five months with my family, knowing I was sick, but fighting for my life. Most of those days I was comfortable and happy. However, the last couple weeks I started to feel very sick and didn't want to eat, and then had trouble breathing. The cancer was again taking over my body.

Today a nice lady vet came to my house. I never met her before but she was very kind and compassionate. She commented on how beautiful I was - but I already knew that. I was laying in my slumberball, mom and dad were petting and kissing me, and suddenly I felt real sleepy. I soon realized I was looking down on my family, and I felt no more pain. I was surrounded by many beautiful and handsome angels - Dexter and Siggy welcomed me to the Bridge, along with many of my furiends.

Pounce and Benson paid me one last earthly visit - and I also said goodbye to my 4 parrots. They will remember me furever, as I was the top kitty for many years. I know it will be difficult for mom and dad when the african greys say my name and meow like me. I think they were jealous of all the attention I got.

I want to purrsonally thank our wonderful furiends who have been so kind and caring during this difficult time. We appreciate all the gifts and kind words that have helped us through our third loss this year. I also thank Catster for making me a DDP today - how special.
